Instant kill of world boss possible (hack) or "just" a bug?

Fedimian server, around 12:30pm - 12:40pm, Oct 1st, in demon prison district 5, channel 1. Noone in that channel except myself.

I was wandering around Hehmastar Isolation district when a found a world boss (Wrathful Harpeia). I stopped for some moments near to plan and check equipment in order to gather a group and face the boss, but suddenly a message “the world boss in this area has been defeated” or something like that, and the world boss disappeared.

As I’ve said, noone except myself was there before the world boss appeared, and it was a couple of minutes later when the world boss was defeated.

How is it possible? Now I don’t know if I should open a ticket in the abuse or bug sections…

I heard bosses kill themselves after some time when no one kills it, but I haven’t seen it myself.

field boss will auto-dead if no 1 kill it…maybe like 1-2 hours

My guldie saw a notice aswell for a worldboss but cud not find it either and noone was there around aswell o.o weird weird
Another weird Thing is Tempelshooter Wb didnt drop Cube after kill there was only 2 ppl killing so it shud have dropped or not o.O …

This is 100% the Boss Monster expiring. They won’t stay there forever, after 2h of their spawn (not confirmed) they will play their dead animation and that message will show.

You just were (un)lucky enough to see it, because its just needed 1 hit of damage to avoid the boss from despawning.

Source: Nobody hunts Harpeia, i’ve ignored it around when farming DP2 and saw that message before.

Field bosses (the ones with debuff) de-spawn after 90 minutes if nobody attacks them. Our guild discovered it while we were hunting the demon lord bosses (Mirtis, Helga, Rexi) long time ago. One way to counter this is to just attack the boss even with 1-hit and it will reset the 90 minutes counter.

I don’t think it’s that long.
I’ve seen several World Bosses randomly despawning and it was only minutes after they spawned. Like 5 minutes.
So it’s either a real bug, either the despawning time is really short (and random).

Let’s assume after 90 minutes the world boss self-destruct. It makes sense it’s programmed like that so people doing missions don’t keep bumping into them if nobody hunt them.

However, unless the world boss changes location from time to time if not attacked (which is something I doubt) it’s impossible this happened “naturally”: I entered that zone at time x, and when I go back (after 15 minutes top?) I noticed the world boss. Let’s add another 15 minutes (?) I was checking and planning (which in fact is was less) and we have 30 minutes the world boss was around.

This doesn’t add up, and I’m being very conservative with the numbers… I guess I’ll issue a bug about this, at some point.

I think they de-spawn after 10 minutes (given the Grim Reaper (bot killer mini boss) lasts for 5 minutes. I remember watching abomination spawning and then de-spawning after a couple of minutes in Guards Graveyard.

That matches what I saw, around 10 minutes.

But come on, 10 minutes it’s extremely short time to prepare anything unless you’re specifically hunting it with a group. If you’re alone, by the time you come back after making some repairs, buying some potions and bring people to where the boss is, the boss will be gone.
