Inquiring on Thaumaturges

Ya’lo peeps, my first post on the official forums, i’m usually a regular at ToS-base but it seems people dont have much info on Thaumaturges in general, and being one of the poor souls that didnt manage to get into any beta, came with my inquiries over here. :stuck_out_tongue:

Mostly some questions on their skills and interactions with other players, besides the obvious part-enlargement buffs.

-Swell/Shrink Body: Can this be used on PLAYERS? What about PvP?

If yes, permanent enlarged swordies / shrunk spellcasters plz (with attribute bonuses of course xD)

-Transponse: Same question, usable on others or self only? It may allow some interesting builds/setups. Or wrecking some enemy builds in PvP.

-Reversi: I am not sure if Safety Zone counts as a magic circle, if it does, this is golden for PvP. Also wanted to know if it has any effect on Dievdirby’s statues, probably not, but worth checking I guess. xD

…It’s pretty obvious that it is. Just look at the skill description.

Yup

Nah, skill description says otherwise

Yup

Why use transpose?
just to regen hp?

I don’t think it healing your HP would make much sense.

It only switches your stats. And having more CON means having more Max.HP.
Your CON has little to do with your current HP.

If you built a character with 300 INT and used transpose, your max.HP would increase but your current HP would stay the same. You would need to heal yourself up to make use of the CON you gained.

But, let’s say you built 300 CON and used transpose. You could instantly switch from a tank build into a glass cannon build at any time. It would allow you to play the tanky support role and when you see an opportunity arise, you could use transpose to turn around a battle in an instant.

The attribute for it seems bad. Sounds either overpowered or pretty useless depending on what it’s actually trying to say.

Thanks for the answers guys!

And whoah, I really thought Swell/Shrink Body would totally not be usable on players. So you could potentially enlarge body and a body-part for some humongous on-screen… thing, hah xD

Or were enlargement buffs limited to 1 at a time per target? You could end looking like a grossly mutated thing if you enlarged head, arms, and still had a tiny torso, lol.

PS: Anyone seen videos of Swell/Shrink Body on players? Haven’t had luck finding any D:

Does left hand swell only effect auto attacks, or is it added matk?

IIRC transpose used to be swap between INT and STR, dunno what happend why they swapped it with CON now.
Anyways, with the current KR Meta and the New Class Advancement System, any mage going full CON can at least take circle 1 Thaumaturge then overkill(exaggeration) pvp opponents with Meteor.

@uaim3
Skill desc says both get amplified, however not equally

@kill5link
Hell no! It says that instead of getting swapped, only the avg would be applied to both.
**Note the emphasis.

Now with the math, assuming I have 200 CON and 100 INT, using
transpose with attribute on, If AVG = 200 + 100 /2 = 150; then I’d have
350 CON and 250 INT throughout the buff duration. In contrast, if attr
is toggled off, the resulting stat would be CON 100, INT 200

Yea that Transpose attribute looks like it’s a must have.

Hell no to what? What are you disagreeing with

If you have the average of both attributes added to each, then it’s overpowered. But I doubt that’s the case. If it replaces the stats with the average value for the duration then it would make more sense but it would make the skill pretty useless for most situations.

oh sorry, I merged all my responses in one post and completely forgot to requote. lol

Now I’m getting you. That’s one possibility, and you’re right, it would be pretty useless (if say. you dare go 1:1 INT-CON). Precisely why I’ve been neglecting this idea from the start.
But meh, these are still but my two cents.

You got my point already, but I have to clear up what I meant with “bad” fast tho, cause I didn’t mean bad in the sense of weak. I meant bad in the sense of bad for the game or badly designed. As in no matter how I interpret the description of the skill, it sounds either too powerful or too weak to me. xd

Oooh… so that’s why. Seems like my comprehension needs a tad more sharpening. haha. :smile_cat:

It’s okay, Johann. You can’t read minds after all.

[transpose][1]
The way the tooltip reads, it sounds like the average will be applied to both. The skill itself says to change INT into CON. The attribute says they will change (switched), instead the average of both stats will be applied. I’m coming to the same conclusion as @elijiahrave did earlier. Maybe it should have said, “INT and CON will be changed to the average of the 2 stats” if it meant differently. The wording can be alil confusing imo.

So Swell Body is usable on both players and monsters… then… how about on Sorcerer summons? Godzilla summoner build plz. xD

As a side-note, is there a limit to how many part enlargements a player can have at the same time? I think I read somewhere it was limited to 1 but I probably just confused it with something else. Or can someone enlarge both arms, head, and Swell Body at the same time?

No, swell/shrink body does NOT work on other players outside of PVP.

So left hand swell would add damage to skills?

Aww man, thats a shame, seemed like it could be a cool gimmick for parties. xD
Any clue if it works on summons though? o:

Swell left arm increase physical and magic attack so it will increase your damage of auto attacks and skills accordingly.
