Indulgentia(w/Oblation) vs Discerning Evil? Need Help w/ Choice

I am Thinking which of this Skills should i put my remaining points(to max level),
it is a C3 Priest and i am a DEX Type, can u guys giv me more info w/ the Choice and the Pro/Con? It is a C2 Pardoner going to C3

w/th max points in

or should i get

Again, I meant to Max the Points/Attributes and I am DEX type (SpellShop Pardoner)

These are just my thoughts without playing Pardoner ever…

I don’t know if Indulgentia is good or not…but maybe it’s worth at least 1 point for its lvl 2 abnormal status removal.
I think Discerning Evil is a good skill but maybe a bit situational… and if you don’t have any debuff skills you will only use it in parties…but it’s still good imo.

Hi, dedicated healer here. Indulgencia is the best skill in game since you can remove all the really annoying debuffs (even Death sentence). Dicerning evil is quite good if you go for plague doctor later. Obation is good to do money but not a must. I hope it helps.

Indulgentia damage good?

Does the Heal from Indulgentia decent for Dex Type?

@9thNight Indulgencia’s damage sucks, you want it to remove stats lvl 2.

@cedchasha The dex type helps you to dodge a lot so some people use it but I think con + spirit is better (also depends in which classes and skills are you using).

Hi, I’m a fellow pardoner and I agree that Indulgencia’s damage sucks however whenever I raise that point, there’s always someone who disagrees.

Is it not recommended just to have Indulg at lvl 1 for the debuff removal?

Indulgencia 2 to remove stats from the whole party.

Oh, I thought it already cures entire party. Allies are other players who is not on your party. Kinda like Blessing.

Blessing gives extra damage to your whole party and 2 other allies outside your party(7 if you have maxed attribute).

i’ve had the pleasure of trying it out in the cbt, but even as a full int, and maxed Indulgentia and filled up Oblation, the damage isn’t really that good, you also have to consider that it has a 30 sec cooldown

but that’s not where the beauty of Indulgentia lies, it is the only skill, afaik, that can remove a level 2 status that is not from the Plague Doctor skill set which is a r7 class, it is very useful in removing debuff on dungeons and PVP

now, do you keep it at lvl 1 or put more points on it, this unfortunately i have not evaluated, the skill description says:

Use a ritual to cure allies with a Lv2 status ailment or to inflict damage on enemies.

and the targets are 3 + Skill level for enemies and allies, so at lvl 1 you have

Attacks 4 enemies
Cures 4 allies

now, from just this there are a few things that are unclear

  1. does Indulgentia attacks 4 enemies AND cures 4 allies, or does attack/cure share the same cap of 4
  2. what will Indulgentia prioritize, curing allies, or attacking enemies

if it is the worst case that the target cap is shared, and it prioritizes attack, then Indulgentia becomes very ineffective at level 1, you would want it to be high enough that you’ll have an allowance that assures it will be able to cure all your allies

i could be wrong though

but back to the question about the 3 skills:
if you’re a DEX priest, going for Indulgentia and maxing Oblation and it’s attributes is a bad choice, you won’t get the value back from spending silver on a mediocre damaging skill

you can get Indulgentia but use it as a utility for removing debuffs and not as an offensive skill, raise it to a level that takes into consideration what i mentioned above, of if it prioritizes curing, you can probably go with just level 1

discerning evil on the other hand would probably be more useful for you if you often go boss hunting and as a dex build, you probably will be on the front lines and having the debuffs on a boss for a longer time is very ideal, your party can save mp if they don’t have to apply debuffs that often, and at Discerning Evil lvl 13(possible since you plan on going Pardoner C3), you can extend the duration up to 26 seconds with a 25 sec cd, you can practically keep the uptime of debuffs indefinitely

hope this helps

What about the point I mentioned above though? That Indulg works like Blessing. I know for a fact that Blessing buffs the entire party and 2 other players not in the party that are closeby.

Does Indulg works this way too? It guarantees cure on party members AND 4 nearby players.

that is also a concern i pointed out on my post, whether Indulgentia prioritizes curing of allies or does it randomly pick between attacking and curing, i would like to believe that it does prioritize curing of allies but the only way to find out is actually testing in game, i do plan on making a merchant pardoner as a first character so i guess i can test it

Ahh, your concern is whether it prioritizes allies or enemies? Not how it always affects party members.

I’m going for Pardoner too. We’ll find out together then :stuck_out_tongue:

well if it prioritizes attacking enemies, it surely wont be able to affect party members all the time, we have somewhat similar concerns but also a bit different, i guess your concern was whether it will affect players not in your party, we’ll just have to find out i guess

I am fairly sure it always affect party members. I used it alot to dispel poison and other debuffs.

I’m sorry to revive this, but I was wondering, does Indulgentia remove lv2 status only or lv2 and lower?

Only lvl 2.

Sorry for revive this.Do you guys figure out how Indulgentia works?I will be grateful if anyone could explain it

Pressing indulgentia makes your character extend his arms into the air. Any enemy in range (similar to blessing range) will be hit (target count increases per lvl). It deals 1 hit of damage. Great to lure mobs.

You and your party will be cured of all debuffs (lvl 2 and lvl 1 debuffs). All party members will be cured.

The ‘allied targets’ in the skill increases per lvl. Allied targets are zombies, fireballs, caltrops, and other summons/objects.
