Independent Download?

Do you guys ever think there will be an independent download for Tree Of Savior?

I’m looking at my task manager and just the Steam.exe alone takes up a huge chunk of memory. That’s not including the memory the game itself takes up when it’s running. I’m playing on a laptop so I need all the memory I can get. I have to keep my house freezing cold when I play for the game to run smooth.

This is the memory Steam takes up according to task manager…

Steam.exe - 39,992 K
SteamWebHelper - 6,256 K
SteamWebHelper - 6,442 K
SteamTray - 1,046 K

That may not sound like a lot but it is for my laptop. I could save that memory if the game an independent download. Another 5 - 10 FPS in town would be magical since I’m getting about 2 - 3 FPS in town. That’s even on a channel without that many people on it. I can’t afford a new computer right now and even a cheap ‘‘decent’’ gaming computer at Wal-Mart is $500

Does anyone know why I lag so much in town and how to make it better?

I dont think they will. Only if IMC decides to create their own distribution platform. Like PWE/Cryptic has Arc, Trion has Glyph, etc etc. (which im not sure if those platforms use less resources or more, I try to avoid them)

The lag depends on a couple things, you;'d probably wanna search the forum. It varies from ddoss, people being long distance from servers, optimization issues, netcode issues, etc etc etc.

To make it better turn off all the “fancy” graphic options in the menu. But that doesnt gaurantee anything depending on what’s actually the cause of your lag.

yo mate, if ~53 megs is a “lot” of memory for your laptop, it’s time to upgrade. even my TABLET doesn’t think 54 megs is a lot of memory usage.

and no, there will not be a “standalone” version for the general “international” audiences.
certain regions will have separate versions, eg; ToS Korea is distributed by Nexon instead of Steam. however they still might have something equivalent to the Steam interface. entirely depends on how the distributing company handles things.

however, most of those are all going to be IP-blocked to anyone outside of the region they serve, the same as anyone inside the region they serve is probably IP-blocked from international ToS.

also walmart is a (generally) terrible place to buy computers.
a computer is a “gaming computer” because of the power of its components, not just because someone in management decided to call it one.

also don’t buy a laptop. they’re significantly more expensive for significantly less-powerful hardware.

My dad gave me this one because my desktop got struck by lightning. The HP desktop ran for an entire year after it got struck by lightning and I tossed it across the floor a few times

Trion? I’ve heard very bad things about that company from multiple sources. Mostly Steam reviews on their games. I have to elevate my laptop because the fan is on the bottom and with the AC on full blast it runs pretty well. I never understood why they don’t put the fan on the top above the keyboard on laptops

Please don’t call a computer a “gaming” computer when it’s only 500 dollars. My oven that I use to heat up pizza’s was more expensive then that.

because how would you type on the keys if the fan were in the way?

(idk, that’s what you said…)

i have a newer laptop and it has a side intake; much nicer.
