Tech nerd language incoming.
This is something that’s kind of been bothering me. If you look on the Steam Store page, under System Requirements, it shows the ideal GPU should be an NVIDIA Geforce GTS 450 or later.
I have an AMD Radeon R7 360.
If we look at Tom’s Hierarchy Table of Graphic Cards here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html
It shows the GTS 450 is 2 levels below the R7 360. By looking at this you would think any GPU on the level of–or greater than–the 450 wouldn’t have any problems. Right?
Over the past two days I haven’t been able to have solid 60fps once. It’s always dipping and ranges from 59.7 to 38.5. I can get 60fps for like a few seconds before it drops. It just really bothers me that my GPU is better than what’s recommended and yet I can’t have a stable fps.
I can see that, yeah, it’s only been out for NA for three days. But it’s been live since 2015 or so. Wouldn’t this issue have been fixed by now? Or at least looked into? They should at least update the recommended specs if the R7 360 can’t handle it.
I can also see the argument that it was built with NVIDIA in mind. Meaning it works best with their brand of GPU’s. But still, there’s no reason for a different GPU that’s better to suffer fps drops.
For clarity on what the R7 360 can do, I can run:
Warframe–max settings-60fps
Witcher 1–max settings–58-60fps
Tomb Raider–max settings–58.9fps
League of Legends-medium high-170fps
TL;DR – Radeon R7 360 is stronger than the recommended NVIDIA GTS 450 and still can’t have stable 60fps. :c
