In-game resets are needed in the future 👌

I think this game needs to have a standardized reset system. Even in iCBT2 you guys gave us a way to reset our stats and skills all the time because it was a test environment. It made perfect sense.

Now that the game is going to go through what I’d like to nickname “a second beta phase”, we seriously are going to need a standardized reset mechanic in the game. Why? Because we’re entering into a black hole of uncertainty again where IMC might have a sudden bowel movement again.

What I suggest is that there is an in-game, non TP method of resetting your classes and character with heavy cooldowns (like 1 month after reset you cannot reset again).

The game needs a standard stat / skill / rank reset built into the game world. A borderline suicidal quest-line that takes days or weeks to complete but what will get you a FULL reset.

I left my reasoning in the small box here if you want to keep reading, (warning it’s long) but to me it just seems logical to go this way instead of some 9999 TP (3000$) class resets.

###Bottom line: I’m never paying money for class reset mistakes IMC makes.

[details=Why we need standard reset:]Why? Well look at this way:

  • There are still tons of classes that have skills that are broken / don’t do anything / even with % stat scaling will still suck.

You’re going to rework the entire stat system which I’m happy about, because it honestly is broken right now as is the Transcending system. It needed a change. However you’re changing so much. It’s going to be a whole new beta age for this game. You can’t possible only gives us a one timed event?

Reality check time for IMC, I’m going to be brutally honest here as someone who has been with this game since iCBT2.

You constantly nerf whales and screw over the casual

So often has IMC broken classes beyond repair in small updates. In huge updates the scales go crazy due to so many small things that go unnoticed until they do.

IMC always seems to focus on what the whale is doing.

“What is McDollarlin doing today? Oh he uploaded a new YouTube video! Oh no, he’s doing a lot of da- oh nooOOO!!”

Then you nerf a class. Then the small casual player just gets weaker and weaker, while you fine tuned the class because you saw videos of whales with full Stage 10 exploit/legit gear spinning for crazy numbers. You made transcendence, you made it happen and now you’re going to stick to this shitty game mechanic?

Not all classes will benefit from % stat scaling

You still have classes like Alchemist with 2 absolutely garbage damaging skills, a Magnum Opus that is bugged, a PATHETIC pet that does nothing and scales HORRIBLY and costs A FORTUNE to make. A tincturing system that NO ONE uses. Item awakening with TERRIBLE stats. All around Alchemist skills need a heavy redo since potions apart from SP ones have stopped being relative entirely.

I could go on and on about different classes (Elementalist, Corsair, Fletcher, World-of-Cleric) and how much you’ve broken and un-broken them. Your balance patches always come at huge surprises and without warning.

Your game has been a mix match of broken mechanics since day one and this has been due to small changes. Tiny, tiny little fixes here and there that broke the back of many classes. Some of which you’ve obviously never even played like Alchemist or Necromancer or Sorcerer.

I don’t trust you enough IMC to make such big changes without failure. I don’t mean bugs. I mean balance. The game is horribly imbalanced right now due to how skills work - not how they scale.

Agreed. Players should have a REGULAR way to perform full resets besides the unpredictable events.

He’s talking about regular methods to reset instead of events. read the whole post before making these replies.

man i withdrew my initial post cause i was just gonna let him wait and see lol

no, i think giving “any time” access to rank reset make the game too easy and loses purpose “do it right”, plan ahead, and “take class choices seriously” aspect to the game.

also it will take away “variety” in-game , off-meta build feel to things… everyone will make same build. Heck even now, ppl jump on same builds all the time. rank resets only make that easier.

Edit: i understand the game isn’t newbie friendly… but once you get into it, thats where u really find some “fun” in this game.

Agreed.
With the rebalancing stat ‘fix’ IMC is planning to dish out, current players have no way of testing if stat points matter or if transcendence is still king.

If you don’t make it more newbie friendly, the game population will not recover. Just saying. The last we had a big boost was the rank reset event in December. If IMC allows rank reset to be a consistent feature in the game it will retain more players.

If you think forcing players to reroll in order to change builds is a good idea, well take a look at the current player count. Newbies won’t reroll if they made a mistake - they just quit and move to next game.

I don’t completely agree with a highly accessible stat/skill reset but your reasoning is too flawed.

How do you even determine how to “do it right” without any actual testing? Unless they’re planning to make the stat system stupidly simpler than it currently is, we’re going to need to test out the new system on our own in order to min-max builds.
