Note: This is a cumulative frustration on the way IMC handles problems.
I’m very disappointed on how IMC handles the most recent issue: the symbol of wealth medal trade-in.
This feels like the weed planting event all over again. They don’t put out any announcements or fix the issue for a day. Then they do a half-complete fix and call it a day without fixing the damage that’s already done. This kind of shows what IMC’s attitude and action on bug fixes.
(1) Issue is not announced until the bug is fixed a day later.
I don’t know why it’s like that. Is there no one on-call 24/7? So if a bug (major or not) happens outside of the working hour for Korea it will just remain there until someone comes to work the next day?
Also why is there no communication on this as soon as this issue is acknowledged? Why don’t the GMs post an announcement saying this is an issue and a fix is on the way, as soon as they’re aware?
Players pointed this out right after the new blessed cube details were out. Why was there no action on the staff or devs to look into this issue and fix it before the update came?
(2) Incomplete fix of the bug.
It seems the way IMC handles bugs is always “fix it so it’s good going forward, whatever that has already happened just forget about it”.
(This is also my experience personally with most bug tickets that I’ve sent)
Fixing the bug is important. But fixing and handling the damage it has done is also important. IMC should have removed the items and medals obtained from this issue. This feels like the weed-planting event all over again, which shows that IMC has improved nothing since then.
(3) Communication issue.
We had a GM-player meet-up on Orsha right before the official announcement of the symbol of wealth issue. And the GM seemed to have no idea what the fix and the actions will be on the matter. I feel it’s very important that all GMs are communicated with the details of this kind of hot fixes so they can properly interact and communicate with the players on the details.
Finally, this is a cumulative frustration I’ve had with IMC and this symbol of wealth issue is just adding to it to the point that makes me write this post. IMC is perhaps doing a better job compared to a year ago. But the handling of this issue is pretty much as bad as how it was before. Again, it’s less about the bugs themselves but more on how IMC handles them. I genuinely want IMC to improve and hope this game succeeds.
