[IMPORTANT] IMC Please do batches login for iCBT2

Dear IMC and all TOS Fans,

It has come to our attention that the number of Beta testers for iCBT2 has a tremendous response, as i last saw it was 50K ++ . Do take note its the first day of registration.
I am asking behalf of myself not “the ToS community”, that IMC will have a systematic way of user to login during the release of Beta. Eg Batches to login between 2 to 3 Days or different timing.
Working adult like us usually will take a off day for this Mega event launch, and experience tells me that usually it won’t be a smooth one. So i urged IMC to take a serious look into this issue.

Thank you ! And have a great day

Not even half of those will play, it will be the same as the 1st iCBT, so o need to go all freaked out about login.

I’m pretty sure they are just testing the server stress, would make sense since they allowed everyone into the next beta or they’re confident that their servers can handle all the people :o

Its better to take precautions than sorry

Before anyone asks for “batches” or “waves” of login permissions. I think we should have some details

  1. are there going to be multiple servers or one “mega server”?
  2. is this a stress test?

We don’t necessarily need to know, would just be nice to have some info.

I just think people are getting anxious and worrying without knowing the internal workings of whats going on on IMC’s side of things. Jumping to conclusions is always a bad thing.
I’d suggest the old mentality of “hope for the best, prepare for the worst.”

If you do not want to have to deal with the lag/crashes or whatever other kind of chaos is most likely going to happen on the first day - feel free to log in on the 3rd. I’m sure everything will be smooth by then. But if people want to log in on the first day and deal with that chaos - why stop them? Those players that want in ASAP know what they are getting into.

@the57thbutton Yes i think u hit the nail too . Good point

@Chebus Yes it would chaos. What if they IMC could do a good launch or with better ideas, won’t that be great?

@Edward_Teach Thats a selfish remark.

It’s not really a selfish remark. Claiming to speak for a community based on your own personal preferences is always a recipe for disaster. Assuming your opinions are the majority is very closed minded.

Sorry, I don’t mean to offend you with my comments, if i do. I just think that you should choose your wording a little wisely when posting on a public forum full of individuals you do not know.

What’s selfish ? Having own opinion ? Plz do explain further ,because I don’t see how is keeping this basic right is “selfish”.

Claiming you’re speaking for community is the selfish act here, you’re giving your own opinion fake power without giving others a chance to speak their mind.
You intentionally used this expression as a power-grab which goes in hand with “[IMPORTANT]” in the title as to artificially elevate your topic over others. I don’t find this topic that important at all.Maybe Concerning at best.
I have full confidence that ppl who made such great game can manage these things on their own.
I do understand your concern tho.

Ok I understand what u mean. So shall edit my post

Its one server, and i take it is a stress test since they are allowing unlimited number of players to participate.

Edit: If they feel the necessity of a new server they may do that i think.

Alright its done for “myself”

Since IMC is using AWS they can easily scale up the number of servers for launch day, and then scale it back after the initial peak of players starts to die down.

In fact, I expect that is exactly what they will do - it is the major benefit of having virtualized servers. But more servers = more money.

So although they will have more servers for launch day, you will still notice a lot of lag. However, it will be significantly less lag than if they had done nothing for launch day.

Since it’s an international server, I would assume it would be bigger than what you would typically have for multiple regional servers. It’s a legitimate concern but I think they should leave it as is. If the server crashes right away, that would be a good thing since they can fix it sooner rather than have it crash later when more people are on. Though they should do this for the official release, I think it’s good to see how far things can bend before they break whilst in the testing stage.

I doubt they will do that on a CBT that could end prematurely, but the game have channels, which are dynamic, with 150 players limit per map which i think for now its fine.

Thats what it would be the best when it goes OBT/Release phase.

So it will be sorta similar to how GW2 handles their servers? Not just everyone on the same map?

Exactly, but we have the option of chose the channel if its not full, its right on top of the minimap, or was under i dont remember right now.
