IMC, we need to talk

Thanks for all the gentle comments here. I believe that in times of crisis we should remain calm and collected, as difficult as that might be.

I could not even post in the forums until now, due to heavy traffic or something, but yesterday I managed to play a bit in the late night period. I completed my personal achievement of 10.000 Tanus without a single Flower

but while I was undergoing my personal martyrdom, IMC has released a notice regarding the server instability. Here it is:

So, now we are in the waiting game again. It’s quite clear that the local SA server is buckling under the weight of the F2P, corroding the experience for everyone. Like another poster mentioned, our Tokens are being spent but we simply cannot play with quality, which is definitely a problem.

Let’s see how IMC handles this problem before the weekend, when the load will probably be enormous.

OK, some time went by since I’ve posted this thread, and things did change. I’m not sure they changed for the best, though.

(This is after some 30 minutes waiting. When I started the game, I was at 700-ish)

Now, the Silute reality is long queues when logging into the game, and when you finally manages to log into the game, you can:

a) being disconnected then you change maps (and coming back to that lovely violin theme sung on the log in screen yet again)

b) discover that you character got stuck in a map with no functional channels.

This has been going on steadily since the F2P launch. It’s quite clear that the current server structure simply isn’t enough for the demand. IMC’s take on this, however, is strange. Instead of opening up another server to accommodate the playerbase, it seems to aim at people leaving until the problem ceases to exist. It makes no sense.

Lag is also a new reality. The performance has taken a turn for the worse, and depending on the map (or channel, at times), the action delay makes it VERY difficult to enjoy the game, especially for classes with cast times.

So, here we are again. Let’s hope the cascade of complaints and negative reviews have some effect. I’m not particularly optimistic, though.
