IMC, we need an answer on class balance parity between versions

Tree of Savior is a game that heavily relies on the best way to build your characters. Making sub optimal choices is very dangerous and can completely ruin characters, especially when there’s no reset options.

It gets really annoying seeing changes popping up on kTOS that we have no clue if they’ll apply to this version. For example, Barbarians can go from a useless end-game class to a very worthwhile addition to 2H sword builds depending if we get their recent Cleave buff in kToS.

It makes no sense to even have 2 kinds of skill balancing for each version. If a class is overpowered in one region it’s also overpowered in another, nerfing and buffing classes based on popularity is awful and short-sighted.

Would really be nice knowing if we will eventually get all kTos balance changes or not. Lots of builds rely on them to be effective or not.

@Staff_Julie We’d really like an official answer to this.

Mabinogi NA takes 6 months to 1 year for balance changes to propagate from mabinogi KR.
Just saying.

The question isn’t “when”, the question is “if” we’ll ever get the same changes at some point. They specifically mentioned we’d have different content between versions and some changes were already done here and haven’t hit kToS for months (like the vertical slash cooldown).

I don’t think they’re under any obligation to inform players about this. It’s not in their terms of service.

Let’s just wait and see.
There are thousands of changes on the way and when wr look back we’ll just laugh at these little changes that we thought are ‘life changing’

Well i think it should be stated if the version will be the same at any cost.
But on the other hand i don’t think its wrong if this version don’t follow ktos in every way …
If the people know that buffs and nerfs are decided not on base of ktos stuff they would not look that much into this extra info…
And well not every buff/playstyle / change decision from there is the right choice … And even gameplay wise the western player could be prefer slightly different handling …
But because there are already some differences in nerfs / buff which were not applied this should be the answer of this topic …

Not sure if you’re up to date, champ, but right now ITOS has class balance changes that even KTOS doesn’t have (and vice versa).

It’s not a simple matter of “It takes a while for it to go from here to there”. That’s a move that differentiates the versions in a very definitive way.

Yeah I know that, but OP is specifically mentoning about changes from kTOS propagating to iTOS

There’s a lot of stuff that was intended for iTOS that already propagated to kTOS too.

We’re talking about the same exact dev team here for both sides…

Given its the same people, they’d have to make a pretty clear decision to NOT distribute changes to one or the other.

It’s completely different from, for example, an aeria games published game not getting some changes to the same game published and developed by nexon in Korea (different publishers is usually the case).

True. Truthfully I wanna know how will the change diverge rather than ‘when will the change be implemented in ours also’.

But the tone of people are more demanding that the changes there carry over to the changes here.

Well in the case of Barbarian for example, many agree that the changes are not only justified but necessary to make the class more viable to compete with the alternatives.

Running under that logic it makes very little sense for us to not get the same changes, given its one single team thinking these changes up. Right now our games are relatively similar with only a few select differences, but since for now we are still the same, for the most part we share the same balance issues with classes.

There really isn’t a lot of debate on the fact that Barbs need buffs, and KTOS got them, why didn’t we?

My theory is because they are using ITOS as a test server for the KTOS server. Honestly this would make the most sense, and it’s not something we should find favorable.

There’s no point at all. These differences only make me suspect imc is just going with knee-jerk reactions to balance (i.e nerfhammer whatever people complain the most about).

i hope you arent just asking for us to get the swordman classes buffed, but also for then to unnerf skyliner and steady aim.

I’m asking for everything to have parity with kToS, so people don’t get shafted for planning out their future builds. Either that or start offering some kind of class/circle reset.

If IMC proves they handle games like mabinogi piece of ■■■■, I will straight up quit and never even bother to look back. Pretty sure many will.
