First off; I am not one to complain. I’ve been playing MMO’s for a very long time. Normally P2P however, as F2P I am not fond of the community that follows them. Honestly though, today has brought this out of me.
When you first announced opening the Servers to people willing to pay 50$ that way you could get a good idea where you should be with your servers and such, you should have stuck to your guns. I’m sorry but you made a mistake of listening to your community on this. Anyone not invested in paying the 50$ isn’t really going to be here for the long haul anyways. So you made it 10$, which is a very easy price for damn near anyone. Here we go, exactly where you DID NOT want to be,. Today (This morning) I left for work after trying to play a bit and thought, you know, they’ll get it figured out by the time I get off work. It’s just as bad as when I left and not a single word from you guys to say; “Hey, we screwed up, but we’re working on it!”. You did screw up, badly.
And then you read countless post saying you learned nothing from iCBT. Really? For shame. I’m not trying to be rude, but when you drop 50$ on something, you expect it to be at least somewhat functional. Hell this isn’t even somewhat functional. And I am a pretty lax guy.
Secondly, why is it, that a certain group of people that already have a server, is playing on ours? I’m sorry, but they should be IP banned. They’re like the roaches of MMO’s and contribute nothing to the server as a whole. They pay for nothing in the long run. I get it you want that extra 10$ but really? There is no reason for them to have their server and ours. This would also cut down on the issue.
Third I’d like to give you a slow golf clap for giving the EU a server where eventually they can get a better ping, so good job there. Smart move. All in all, yes, I am bitchy. Yes I think this should not be happening and I think because you listened to your community the rest have to suffer. Sometimes it’s smarter to do what you think is right vs the community who only wants “free”. I needed to Vent, and I am sure you guys are doing your best, but this shouldn’t be happening in the first place. No one expects a perfect launch, but the game should be remotely playable. (No waiting 2-3 minutes for a NPC to MAYBE respond to you IS NOT remotely playable.)
