IMC...Spawn rates

Why do some maps have such ridiculously low spawn rates/mob density? Some are fine, but others have huge open areas with only like 5 mobs.

I was just doing that owl burial ground quest where you need to kill 15 mobs in 2 minutes. I failed it 4 times in a row, not because i couldnt kill quick enough, but because there just isnt enough mobs! I tried 2 different channels that had no other people in them too. One channel i tried had a single person and i could only find 3 things to kill. In 2 minutes.

I think i have more patience than alot of people and this game never got me to the point that i had to put the game down, but this just did.

Please do something about the spawn rates/density in certain maps.

I’m not defending the extreme slowness of spawn rates, but quite simply: Some maps are quest grinders; You get in, do your ā– ā– ā– ā–  and get 100% on the map, and get out. Owl Burial Ground is one of those, as well as that whole Forest questline.

Others are monster grinding maps, maps designed with high density but low spawn rate to accomidate maybe two grinding parties, although simultaneously is putting a stretch on it. Dina Bee, Demon Prisons, and the like all follow this general theme.

A poor argument. Quest map or not, it makes no sense that a huge map with many crawling pathways has only 2-3 dozen mobs on it total.

If owl burial ground is for quests only and move on, why do they have a ā€œkill 15 mobs in 2 minutesā€ quest and have mob density so low? To piss people off? I’d rather have a kill 200 mobs with no time limit and the same mob density than this.

I dunno. I mean they could just up to the time 5 minutes instead of 2 minutes and that would solve the problem.

But most people don’t realize that mobs will respawn on the other ends of the map after being killed.

In my opinion this map spawn rate is appropiate.

About your quest, You can do quest from owl statue in the north but not yet get the reward (just to get the warp point).

Then start 15 mobs in 2 mins quest / warp to the north / run to more mobs spot / kill / get pink hair.

More or less because people rarely go into the other spaces once they finish their quest or completely scout the area. Aside the Achievement, random Merc Quests and the Valkarine Jump Stone, you have little reason aside wonderlust to return to where you were.

That and, as Varuna said, people don’t really reset the mobs. So while one area may be barren, another could actually be fairly filled up and left alone. I’m not really ignoring the trash server timer, should be much less than a few minutes per wave but eh. I looked around to find where the mobs were, walked back to the NPC, and finished the Achievement with like ~30 seconds to spare.

You are arguing for arguments sake, I feel.

The OPs example map has far too low monster density, as do many other maps simple as that. It is not a case of ā€˜ā€˜mobs spawning elsewhere’’ if you clear the entire map and there are still very few monsters around.

Spawn rates need to be buffed in those maps, as do densities.

Realize how I do say that in both of my posts that I don’t disagree- The map-wise spawn rate should be improved. I simply say that there are means of working around it currently that don’t have you end up banging your head against your keyboard because you can’t kill 15 mobs in less than a 2 minute time span.

In any case, take of it what you will. Someone having a slightly different opinion and a slightly different experience, utilizing what they can to get by. If this is an argument, I’ll just stop here. Never was really a forum politician.

Then realise that you sounded like one.

Even tho you said right before this: ā€˜ā€˜I’m not defending’’, when you are.

If you feel that way, there’s really no need to say any more.
I don’t think Gringe is going to stop before he completes the quest anyway, so there was no need to point that theres ways ā€˜around it’ (which isnt the case anyway, for most maps. You just suffer through it or quit.)

No mob spawn is not fast or populated enough.

As long if there one person in each farming spawn zone and chnl for example mithril. You can never get a kill. I know because i tried. I been to all chnl

Thats why u always see people wtb mithril because its way to hard to get a drop not because of the low drop rate but because of the low spawn rate.
