I came to a conclusion that IMC’s problem is it’s PR.
What they fail to realize is , that the opinions they got during the cbt weren’t exactly objective.
What should of happened vs what happened.
If IMC wanted to found-raise some dolla before the launch , they should of made a kickstarter where everyone would be able to donate based on their own good will.
They should of just kept the betas rolling and give extra privileges to those backers.
This way they would be able to work in peace for another god knows how long. Without being pressured and it would of made fanatics happy,
What happened instead?
First mistake, they marketed themselves on steam. Poorly.
It almost seemed like a “bait and switch” tactics. Users kept buying the game as if it was already out.
- They should of hired some big titted english speaking(korean girl) to explain the details of the deal in a video. I mean how hard is that?
Instead ppl faced an army of whiteknights. Often insulting ppl for not paying enough attention to the Tiny print on the document, so to speak.
This should already set off alarm bells to anyone with a head on their shoulders.
The launch itself.
I really wont give them as much crap for the launch , because it is what it is.
23k ppl .
However I will say that they should of known this would happen, it happened in every single beta and they handled it just as poorly .
They have not learned.
So to cut this argument before I start going in circles, I will say this , putting an alpha game on STEAM? not the best idea.
Im a bit guilty of lashing out more than Im supposed to.
I was actually pleasantly surprised with orsha… it added an additional dimension to the game and lessened the grind. You can do both quest lines in parrarel and the game becomes much more enjoyable. Which was my biggest gripe with the game.
MIND YOU it’s still buggy as hell, however it’s a step in the right direction.
This is why I decided to write this post.
I still believe that they can make this game work, if they do this right. If they care and if they apply themselves. If they stop trying to please and milk the public both at the same time.
Sit down , calm down ,clear your mind, have a shower, think for a bit with a cool head , take this experience as part of the learning process. Good luck , Have Fun.
