IMC please fix your mount compatibility nonsense

Highlander - Cartar Stroke/Vertical Strike: Not usable while mounted. These are basically the same animation as Cataphract’s Earth Wave, so why not?
Peltasta - Shield Lob: Not usable while mounted. Spear Throw can be used and again they’re basically the same animation.
Squire - Arrest: Not usable while mounted. Even though you can use Iron Hook??? Two skills could not be any more identical.
Squire - Deadly Combo: Not usable while mounted. Haven’t seen this skill used, can’t comment on the animation compatibility.
Corsair - Jolly Roger: Not usable while mounted. This flag is as tall as you are, you could stick it in the ground while mounted.
Corsair - Pistol Shot: Not usable while mounted. There’s literally an entire class based around shooting pistols while mounted, get your shit together IMC.
Doppelsoeldner - Zornhau: Not usable while mounted. Again this is just a downward strike like Earth Wave, makes no sense you can’t use it.
Doppelsoeldner - Zucken/Redel: Not usable while mounted. Moulinet is usable while mounted and these skills have a very similar animation, especially Redel.
Doppelsoeldner - Zwerchhau: Not usable while mounted. This may be problematic because of the lunge forward, but it’s not like you’re spinning around or anything so it’s still a possible technique, just needs animation tweaks.
Doppelsoeldner - Sturtzhau: Not usable while mounted. A diagonal slash with a two handed sword is the most likely kind of cut you’d execute while mounted and yet you can’t. C’mon IMC.
Fencer is all fancy footwork so I’ll give them a pass. A mounted fencer in fact makes no sense. Same with Shinobi. There are certainly SOME skills that could work on a mount here, but it’s not really a priority.
Templar - Stun Blade: Not usable while mounted. Again, just a series of slashes, much like Moulinet; I see no reason this shouldn’t be usable.
Murmillo - Evade Thrust: Not usable while mounted. This is literally just Synchro Thrust, another skill that is already animated to be usable while mounted. Pure laziness, IMC.
Murmillo - Headbutt: Not usable while mounted. You could argue either direction for this one. Mounts in ToS are short stubby things, not tall animals like horses, so you’re still at a height to headbutt most things, but it would look weird.
Murmillo - Scutum Hit: Not usable while mounted. This isn’t a full spin, just a < 180 degree twist of the hips, perfectly executable while mounted. Although again if you were riding a horse instead of a stubby monster with no neck, you’d smash its head off, but that’s not a factor in ToS.

Quarrel Shooter - Deploy Pavise: Not usable while mounted. Same argument as Jolly Roger, these are shields as tall as the player is and you’re riding a short stubby mount; you could stick it in the ground just fine.
Hunter - Rush Dog: Okay, obviously Hunter skills don’t make sense in general for use while mounted because you’re commanding your pet to act independently of yourself, but how ■■■■■■■ fun would it be if you could use Rush Dog while mounted?
Sapper - Detonate Traps/Collar Bomb: Not usable while mounted. Sapper traps, unlike Jolly Rogers and Pavises, would not really make sense to be usable while mounted. However, Detonate Traps and Collar Bomb would, I see no reason they should be restricted.
Wugushi - Throw Gu Pot/Jincan Gu: Not usable while mounted. If you can throw a spear from your mount, you can throw a poison pot.
Rogue - Feint: Not usable while mounted. The skill the prompted this thread in the first place, Feint not being usable while mounted makes no sense and is outright detrimental to MANY Hakka/SR builds that dip into Rogue.
Rogue - Vendetta: Not usable while mounted. Why, because you crouch? You just don’t have to crouch while mounted, because you’re sitting. Problem solved.
Rogue - Lachrymator: Not usable while mounted. Just like so many other ‘throwing’ skills, for some reason throwing smoke bombs is harder than throwing spears.
Cannoneer - Everything: Not usable while mounted. Animation-wise these almost all make sense. The argument to be made, I suppose, is the recoil from the cannon would dismount you. I think this could go either way.
Musketeer - Everything: Not usable while mounted. Same argument as Cannon, but it’s a lot weaker for a musket. You can fire a musket from a mount. It has in fact been done plenty of times in real life by people who aren’t magical fantasy saviors.
Mergen - Everything but Parthian Shaft: Not usable while mounted. Legit complete nonsense. Mergen’s skills should all be usable while mounted. Not only does it make no sense animation-wise, it makes no sense to give a class one mount-only skill and 4 mount incompatible skills. Again, IMC, get your shit together.

Other skills at least make sense because they involve motions that aren’t possible while mounted such as jumping or spinning, but they could easily be tweaked.

Fix your shit IMC, tired of thinking up a build for a mounted class and then going to check skill compatibility and saying “Oh, I guess that doesn’t work for some totally unexplainable reason.”

I totally agree with you dude. It’s arbitrary the way imc choose what skill can be use or not use while you are mounted.

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.
Mounts were made for travelling around a little faster.
Skills that work with mounts are just a bonus.

But yeah I agree with you. SKILLS SHOULD WORK ON MOUNTS. IF I GOT A MOUNT SKILL, I BETTER BE ABLE TO USE ALL MY SKILLS.
But first, skills actually need to work as half of them are still buggy lol.

And why is there no Cleric mounting class? :frowning:

Introduce mounting cleric: Heal tank. Because you are a tank, that doesnt mean you can heal and spread love.
Skill 1: Ambulance: If a teammate is below a certain heal, you can carry them in the back, you take the damage instead and carry them away at a bonus speed. Definitely a troll for Doppel.
Skill 2: Spread the blood pack (love): As long as you run during this skill is in effect, heal drop out randomly in the field behind you en mass, heal for 1% max heal each.
Skill 3: Siren: WEE OOH WEE OOH WEE OOHH, enemy is stun when you start using your mouth to chant the weird thing in the future.
Meh, you cant imagine the other skill.

It’s pure laziness IMO. It takes a relatively minor adjustment to animate a skill for use while mounted so they just change as few skills as they can. It wasn’t that long ago when Dragoon couldn’t use their skills while mounted, to the distress of every Cata. And of course in beta practically no skills but Cata’s and SR’s were usable while mounted.
