Tree of Savior Forum

IMC, please create a official gitHub folder for translations in "all" languages

When we go to the official TreeOfSavior GitHub account (https://github.com/Treeofsavior) all we can see is a EnglishTranslation repository.

I think that what we need now is a greater number of repositories for other languages. Since we already are at the ICBT, we need repositories for Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, etc… So that we, the community, can help the translation process using our local knowledge to do a better translation, using slangs that people outside our countries would never be able to understand, no matter how good they are at the language. It’s about our own culture.

I would be realy happy to see a official PortugueseTranslation repository for us to start something more realistic, and not some independant work the might be of use or not.

Realy hope someone from IMC see this so we can realy discuss about our future in this game as a community of people that are willing to help each other.

The english translation is currently in a , lets call it “unstable”, state where is does not make sense to translate into other languages.

Things like Frenzy are translated into Flange
Kill was translated as Kiel.

the English Version needs to be reworked first before it makes sense to offer more language support.

Kind regards

The point is: With the ICBT we’ll be able to see and correct those mistakes. And, with it, it will become more suitable for translation. And, anyone that knows english up to some point, can see some mistakes like “kiel” and such, mainly if you see the word in the game.

Yes but there is still 100s of lines that are simply wrong, bad grammar, or just wrong translation. Now with iCBT we will get a lot of context for lines. If you start translation for other languages using the current English translation then it could spiral down quickly. The files are constantly being improved and changed on the GitHub and there is still a lot of work.

I’m not saying don’t start translating to other languages but it could have a butterfly effect where your work on lines becomes meaningless or wrong because we changed the translation in English.

I think ToS team has already been planing for this but their priority now is the English one. Still we can translate what are possible now by ourselves, don’t really need to wait for the English one to complete nor for the staffs to create new repo. Just fork the English one and start your works. What to translate, how to translate, translate directly from Korean or English is up to you. I think ToS team and the community can review the works later when there are already something done.
