IMC, please consider buffing Sadhu for the next balance patch!

Hello IMC. Please consider buffing Sadhu for the next balance class. It is a class that has been ignored for the longest time even though it is in desperate need of changes. It is currently one of the buggiest and lackluster classes currently in Tree of Savior. Sadhu is one of the few red classes in the Cleric class tree, and yet it is out-damaged by even the green support classes, that demonstrates how unbalanced things truly are. Here are a few videos showing some of the bugs that it has, and ways that it could be improved.

All of the suggestions here don’t have to be implemented, they are just ideas.

Out of Body

Out of Body is the main skill of Sadhu. Your spirit leaves your body and is able to attack enemies. This attack deals 3 hits (don’t know if it is a fake multihit or not) and does the same damage as your magic attack + any elemental attack. But, this means that its literally just a buggy AoE Wizard auto attack. It causes a lot of rubberbanding, lowers the user’s defence to 0, and sometimes the speed between the spirit’s attack is quite inconsistent.

Here are some videos of bugs concerning Out of Body.

As you can see, the spirit sometimes leaves behind a weird cloud which causes a drop in fps. This should be fixed to increase fps.

Sometimes when Out of Body is activated, the spirit is able to use the ā€œCā€ button to use their subweapon to attack. However, it is currently useless and serves no purpose, and should be removed or given an actual function.

Sometimes when running with Out of Body there is a weird visual bug where the blue line twitches and appears in a spot where you were walking before.

Also, the body of the Out of Body spirit randomly disappears sometimes and is just a creepy floating head.

Ways to Improve Out of Body

  • Remove the effect that reduces the player’s defence to 0. It only punishes the player and forces them to hide in their safety zone.
  • Add an attribute to increase attack speed of the spirit
  • Maybe add another attack to the ā€œCā€ button while using Out of Body? Z and C could be pressed in rapid succession to quickly attack like how the old Out of Body was in the CBT.
  • Add some sort of scaling to Out of Body. It is literally just an AoE wizard auto attack for clerics.

Prakriti

This is a skill that when used in Out of Body, it teleports the player’s body to where the spirit is. However, the cooldown of it is really long (9 seconds, 16 seconds with attribute) Alas, it is not safe from bugs either.

As you can see, sometimes the skill does not completely teleport the player to where the spirit is, and randomly stops halfway or 3/4 of the way.

Ways to Improve Prakriti

  • Lower the cooldown, would allow for more mobility

Astral Body Explosion

One of the least buggy skills of Sadhu. This skill explodes the spirit in an AoE attack. It has a 200% scaling. It is completely fine and an actual good skill.

Vashita Siddhi

Another one of the really bad skills of Sadhu. This skill is a channeling skill involving your spirit, and in a big AoE, enemies recieve a debuff that lowers their stats by -5 every level. However, it seems to have no effect, AND the worse thing is that this buff only lasts while channeling, going away right when the skill ends.

As you can see, Vashita Siddhi literally has no effect on enemies at all. It doesn’t decrease their HP or the damage that they do, even though the description of the skill says its supposed to.

Ways to Improve Vashita Siddhi

  • Make the skill a long lasting debuff, instead of one that just applies while channeling it. So that when channeling it, it will keep the debuff on the enemy even after it ends for a reasonable amount of time so that the Sadhu is actually able to take advantage of it.
  • Make the skill actually work on enemies like the skill description said it should. It would be really helpful to make enemies weaker with it.

Possession

Critically acclaimed as the only reason to go Sadhu, however it still has its faults. But it is really good single target damage, but has limited targets concerning AoE.

As you can see, you are not able to attack with Out of Body while using Possession. Don’t know if this is intended or not, but I definitely remember being able to use it at the same time.

Also, sometimes Possession just decides to not appear. This is really infuriating especially when you have a lot of monsters gathered and are really excited to nuke them… and then nothing happens.

There is also a bug where you can slide while using Possession, it’s pretty hilarious!

Ways to Improve Possession

  • Allow Out of Body to be used while charging Possession. It should definitely be possible.
  • Or, if the above is not possible, add an attribute to allow it to be used as a magic circle, dealing damage over time without having to charge it up. This would greatly benefit Sadhu as it would be able to use Out of Body while attacking with possession too.
  • Attribute to increase number of targets
  • Increase size of Possession

Transmit Prana

This is arguably the worst and most useless skill that Sadhu has. Before, Transmit Prana used to be a good skill as Sadhus were able to use it on their spirit, doubling the amount of damage it did. Here is a very old video showcasing this.

However, that is not the case anymore, and now it is just a lowly support skill, even though Sadhu should be dedicated to DPS. It also has a long charge time, making it difficult to use on party members in certain situations.

Ways to Improve Transmit Prana

  • Attribute to decrease the cooldown of the skill. It is currently 80 seconds, which is quite long for a buffing skill. At level 5, the skill only lasts for 54 seconds.
  • Allow the skill to be used on the Out of Body spirit again. This was the main selling point of this skill.
  • Attribute to half the charging time of the skill. Takes too long to use effectively.

TL;DR - Sadhuman, SadHUE, AKA Sadhu is currently in a very bad position. Please consider it for the next balance patch.

Am super happy seen more Sadhus appearing in the world, even if not all are good people :expressionless:

hope the increase of Sadhu also increase the attention put into the class

Propably the best class suggestion thread I have seen in a while, good work I hope it gets the attention it deserves from IMC. :slight_smile:

My heart aches everytime I hear that ABE is good.
When will this pain stop.

Btw.

OOB is a fake multi-hit with a ~50% modifier.
So 150% of Mattack is added to a base value of 100. Been awhile since I checked.
Due to enhance lvl 100 being 2x damage this translates to 300% of Mattack which is equivalent to Running Shot if you want to pay 48 mil except that running shot has 30% attack speed boost.

Divine Stigma and Aukuras boosts Out of Body damage by an unknown quantity.
So fully attributed out of body is 300% of your Mattack, 1.5x evasion and 30% less defense to enemies it attacks. Boosted further by Divine Stigma or Aukuras (I wonder if both stacks). in exchange for your Defense and mobility.
The loss of defense in exchange for evasion is just difficult to fully capitalize given Dex has no value on Sadhu. So it’s heavily equip (money) based on dealing with physical damage.

Fully attributed ABE is 500% of M attack a knockback and some base damage.
Especially when Out of Body is Boosted ABE is very insignificant, particularly now that Possession can aoe quite a few grouped up targets.
ABE is generally bad and requires quite a few targets to really provide value as an AOE (but it’s AOE ratio gets in the way).

Prakriti moving you to the spirit without destroying it would be awesome so you don’t lose your Divine Stigma/Aukuras boosts and have to reacquire them (EVERY time you recreate the spirit)

Add an attribute for Sadhu C3:

Attribute : Casting location
Requires : Sadhu C3
If this attribute is switched on the Sadhu OOB-Spirits locaion is used for casting skills, like Heal, Cure, Incineration, Merkabah, Carve Owl Statue, etc. with the only exception being self-protective skills like Safety Wall or Fade, which are casted on the body reagadless of this attribute.

That way Sadhus can use their non-Sadhu attack skills form far away, as long as their OOB-Spirit can reach/cast to that location. I think that’d be pretty awesome for Sadhus.

If you really like oob then druid 2 is your choice to spam dem safety zone. I did like the possession fix where you wont get interrupted which is supposed to be (Not sure if its still the same now).

Sadhu needs massive rework but looks like all the sadhu buffs went to diev, pd 2, and other clerics.

As I stated already in the Sadhu rebalance discussion thread I opened,
It’s quite pathologic on Sadhu that he’s suffering from discordance in his skillset.

OOB is quite ok damagewise but it’s sad to see no difference between Circle 1 Sadhu and Circle 3 Sadhu other than the walking distance.

I believe the C attack is actually quite useful and should be made an official feature of OOB;
As currently OOB C attacks take your basic subweapon attack strengh, it should become an enhanced way to autoattack with physical attack as a base, with the 1,5 times multiplier for OOB attack and the enhancement attribute also affecting it, providing a way for physical Cleric builds to utilize Sadhu as an alternative to Monk and Paladin (and for Sadhus to have a way to counter high magic defence foes).

About the OOB defence reduction:
I believe it should be decreased, but it provides the problem of counterbalancing it, as the astral body has many benefits and non-aggro attacking is possible in combination with Clerics Fade (up to a point where you can autoattack 24/7 with Fade 10+ Laima statue and never get targeted by any monsters). Maybe there could be some damage reduction buff via Circle 2/3 OOB attribute or via using Transmit Prana on your astral body to reduce the incoming damage by a certain percentage,
but to rebalance the 0 defence would be difficult,
given the possibilities later on (knockback resistance+attacking without getting targeted+increased autoattacking damage on magic Cleric builds e.g.).

About Praktiri: I already stated that the best way to save Praktiri is to remove all CD from it and put it onto the Healing attribute so that the skill becomes useful in general gameplay to evade e.g. AoE attacks and enable quick maneuvers to circle around enemies/mob them, regroup,etc.

About Possession: The skill is actually really good at the moment, it has a reasonable AoE, a high number of possible targets (more than you can aggro at level 5+) and a low CD time, given the high duration for the debuff that disables most non-boss monsters inside the AoE while dealing damage.
The only thing that needs a little love is the damage (maybe some % boost), as it is currently quite sad, especially if you don’t have a high attribute%/amount of INT/matk/good weapon. Mikos Hamaya is way too good in comparison to Possession (more base damage, Holy property, more hits/second and larger AoE), so either Hamaya should be nerfed ( no more hitlock for enemies inside the AoE e.g.) or Possession be boosted to be better than Hamaya.



About putting up Sadhu as the next-to-balance Cleric Class:
I strongly have to disagree with this idea. The difference between rebalanced Monk and Pardoner is way bigger than between Sadhu and Paladin.
I’m maining a Sadhu/Kabbalist and know the pain,
but I believe IMC should be true to their words and balance Pardoner first, focusing on removing the bugs of Sadhu first before balancing him.

Let me suggest a simpler solution: Give all sadhues a class reset voucher and then delete the class

About Sadhu’s defense.
Defense is physical mitigation as is Block and Evasion.
0 Defense for 50% evasion means Plate armor is ditched, Leather and Cloth are in.
the 50% is additive with Leathers 50% for 100% total or 2x Evasion compared to Archers 1.7 with lvl 15 Swiftstep (generally lv10 though) and 4x leather.

It’s a great modifier but without Dex investment the evasion isn’t all that large (though Aukuras 10/15 help) even considering Trans/Anvil’d boots.

A Sadhu has to invest in their boots to make up for non-existent armor, or they’re eating every thing to the face. Then investing in Out of Body, it’s really expensive.
Unfortunately you don’t have INT or SPR contributing to evasion in OoB like Dex contributes to physical attack in Kneeling Shot. Personally don’t want to depend on Linker’s Lifeline either.

Leather is not 50% evasion. It is 75 evasion.

… look at the comments. 4p Leather mastery is nothing near 50% it is a flat +75.

Btw this is common knowledge known by everyone (except you) since the start of the game.

However this mastery should be improved as a flat +75 is not significant in rank 8 content.

It is a flat 50ish evasion not 50% evasion. Leather mastery is the most useless armor mastery in the game. Unless they buff it. TOSBASE is old and misleading. I cant believe you people still fall in that. kek

We tried to make em aware since the game launched… they decided to ignore us. My first char was Sadhu 3… I since resettled it…I see no future for this class without insane investment

I would take even 10% over this flat 75 evasion.
