Why can’t compete? Going by that logic, player can compete only then starts play with release? It’s seems to be wrong.
Right. Because a working adult spending $50 that he likely would have spent on another game is comparable to a rich spoiled kid whose pony was stolen. I’m sorry that not everyone is a broke student in high school/college as seems to be the case with so many on the internet.
Hating on someone because their circumstances are better than yours is childish.
If you aren’t hyped up enough to fork over some cash to play early, then what good is your hype to IMC?
And if you simply can’t afford it now, you probably won’t be giving them much money down the road when they convert to F2P anyway.
It’s not so much that they can’t.
It’s that most people would be unwilling to start on a server where they’re set at a known disadvantage.
The disadvantage being what? People higher level stocking the marketplace with equipment and crafting materials the later players might actually be able to buy instead of farm themselves? This might only matter to pvpers, if anything. But thank god there’s no open world pking.
No. The Game WILL be F2P.
But again, if you’ve to pay right now i really hope it’s not laggy anymore and don’t have " big " bugs anymore. Like Panplemousse said : we’re not Beta Testers anymore, we’re customers.
By the way, the price isn’t the problem for me, it’s the 3 months the real problem.
Get a job lol.
I was homeless and jobless last year (2015) and lost $3000 in the span of 2 weeks. Now I’m back to being stable.
I understand the value of money and I understand that people’s finances vary wildly. I’m EXTREMELY sympathetic towards people who don’t have the luxury of having extra money to spend on Entertainment (movies/video games/etc.)
I still say that $50 is not a lot.
Lolwut?
IMC is not responsible for the Economy of foreign countries or currency-exchange rates between nations.
By your logic, Sony should be punished for not giving starving African children free PS4s because…reasons???
“so lets sell our game for a price so high that our biggest community cant afford it” thats your logic? you really think this game is worth the same price as a AAA PS4 game? this is a F2P game for god sake, it has a cash shop you cant compare with console games that you buy once and never waste money with it again unless you want to buy DLCs
I don’t understand if any of you will do nothing while waiting for the game to be free2play.
If you don’t want to pay, don’t. That just prove you don’t want to support the game by paying money.
The known disadvantage is the founder early access time.
Whatever other pros or cons there are to playing with the advantaged players may be, most people tend to not think that far.
Because players with better gear on a founders server can farm bosses for a long time even after f2p players start jumping in.
That and 3 months is enough time to level a lodge up to 50, and be ahead even on alts for quite a long time for f2p players. The economy by then would have slowly become worse and worse since there’d be a somewhat set amount of players with no influx of f2p players, so prices would start off a little absurd for f2p players.
It just makes more sense to start on a fresh server.
Or… you know, we don’t want to support this terrible business model?
It’s greedy, lazy, disrespectful and pretty much equal to IMC treating its players like piñatas and fish.
(the fish for the freemiums, as an infinite resource of worthless feed)
I hope I don’t have to explain how this business model hurts the game, too.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, if you are hyped you WILL pay for the founders pack, if you aren’t ll you need to do is wait for the game to become F2P.
Simple and logic.
will we get a server transfer so we can play with out friends in other servers (LA)?
during this 3 months will we have VIP ON or we need to spend ALL the 600 TP for VIP?
What’s this kind of answer ? We should just pay to support this kind of business model ? Use your brain damn it.
It’s not about supporting the game (that we all did, We always was pretty descent and gentle with the ToS Team, cheering them up until today), it’s about the terms of this " OBT " .
Who cares about the size of the community if they’re not gonna spend money on the game anyway?
Those people are irrelevant to any business.
Think of it this way: you and I open up a restaurant.
Let’s call it "Isnerd & STILL’s Burger Shack."
Every day a group of 10 high-schoolers comes in and they never order anything except water (Free) and they don’t TIP, but they:
-take up seats
-talk loudly and bother the PAYING-CUSTOMERS.
-expect the same treatment as PAYING-CUSTOMERS
You (Isnerd) would offer them a Free Burger on the side too. Not just a free burger though, a free burger that they don’t have to WAIT FOR. Every day they come in, we have a fresh burger waiting for them, while our [Actual CUSTOMERS] have to wait several minutes for us to take their order, make it and then deliver it to their table.
I would tell the freeloaders to GTFO or order something from the menu.
This.
They’re just cheap and want everything handed to them, i.e. “FREE BURGERS 4 EVERYONE”
People work for money. You haven’t supported squat until you pay for it.
Even though the servers will be empty and it will be hard to find people to dungeon with, I hope many people pay to play earlier, so they can find bugs and test unbalanced classes and builds and IMC can fix it in time for the new Open Beta servers 19 Jun where the majority of community will be playing.
I’m talking about business plan “Mister IMC is a business but doesn’t realise how business work”
I would gladly pay 50€ (yes even flat conversion), but we lack too much information. This is no good business practice.
Also, how do you think an entitled brat who is already used to whine will react after paying 50$ and still encounter bugs ? He will whine even more “I give you money andmy game crash, blablabla”
All this could have been avoided.
