Support with correct build is basically your only way to get a boss cube now. I don’t get what are you complaining about.
more than everything: you dont get credit for monster kills (except bosses) for your monster journal
that means that you wont be able to level at same pace as your other party mates because you cant complete monster achievements and get exp cards for them.
That is not true, I successfully completed all monster completions that my party was doing at the same time as my whole party did. I’ve heard that was an issue in the past, but definitely not anymore.
thats good to hear. i’ve played support in iCBT2 but not now (yet). A friend of mine is waiting for F2P, so there is no reason to create support char yet.
Had that monster journal issue too, seemed to be fixed like two patches ago.
I was thinking about stuff like this. Feel like there’s no real reason beyond liking the class and world bosses to go full support, minus healer and linker. I can’t think of why any party would sacrifice a dps slot for me, minus my linking.

Uhm, any party that isn’t full retard wants a linker/chrono. You have no need of more DPS slots when a linker/chrono can boost the DPS of your other DPS characters by way more than an extra DPS will, plus the other utility they bring.
Supports in general are all strong as hell, except for a few of the gimped Cleric classes - and even if you play a gimped Cleric as long as you end up with Plague Doctor and 2 circles of Cleric nobody really cares.

I see. I’m a linkchrono myself, and for all the pain it took to level, I feel like I’m pretty much useless when it comes to bossing until I get pass heh. Haste maybe. Slow/quicken for the crit buffs that I’m unsure if people notice or not. Everyone ignores or purposefully breaks spiritual chain. Links are hard to keep up with in terms of party pace and cooldowns. So in between links, I’m more or less just putting out slow circles and bein cool and useless since Rune Caster’s casts are too long to use on mobs. also, energy bort.
Clerics are always wanted for heals, ofc. and plague doctor is strong as hell, yes. I certainly don’t fit into the strong as hell category HAHAHA
I just have a biased experience as a full support wiz I suppose. I personally like what I went with, but it doesn’t help that I have a pretty wacky build so I guess I shouldn’t speak on the behalf of all supports.
idk y people go full support really. like, its not that hard to throw in 1 circle of bokor. or just to get diev instead of priest.
Thread is more about wizards I guess, who sortof have to go full support because their best skills are usually circle 3 (Cryo’s snow rolling and tree, Chrono pass) or just scale really well with more levels and get useful skills at every circle (Linker, Thauma sortof).
But yes, clerics can do whatever they want for the most part. And I’m personally trying out a pyrolinker right now with the intention of going pyro3linker3 (and praying we get the pyro buffs from kToS so my build might be worth a damn).
haste is op as ■■■■ for grinding, pass is amazing for elementalist (double frost cloud), for bossing i’d take a chrono any day instead of a healer.

like i can support just as effectively as any other support, but i can do more dmg than them (not with oob, oob sucks. but possession is good, i did more dmg with 1 tick of possession than a fletcher :0) i can see y wizards have to go full support, and ive noticed that all the wizard supprot classes dont have any dmg skills. must be a pain to lvl but a god in parties.
Good to get some validation that we’re not useless HAHA.
My logic for going full support was that, if I couldn’t provide as good of dps as full offense classes, I’d rather go full support and provide strong support so that others in the party didn’t have to shrugs. Didn’t realize most people in the game like to juggle the two, though my build wasn’t ever intended to be the most optimal thing in the world anyways.

Supports are fine. I’d say I would need a support even if IMC hates them.
