IMC has a deadline and needs to take drastic action

Lol. Its not like IMC put 5% of their work time into making loading screens, its more like they have 2D artists who have nothing to do. You know, gamedev team consists of a variety of professionals. Programmers, 3D and 2D artists, level disagners, writers, marketers etc. You cant just take 2D artists and tell them to fix code. Its not working that way.

but they certainly might try

Game content stops at 230.
Then there is ET, then it stops again.
And as proof of that, they implemented new quests on ktos this week.

Atm there arent even enough ppl to find party at abby, few for storage evac or even dp, lets not talk about et.
1 to 2k ppl on the server.

@langford_bradley tagged me in this so I thought I could provide some info. @Nekorin was also curious and I didn’t see an answer in the thread of babbling so far.

Why are versions of games behind other versions of the same game?

Typically one thing does this. Publishers. That’s the simple answer. I am almost assured Nexon has contract with IMC stated they get ■■■■ first. It sucks that no company is typically transparent with this information.

Yet, it typically doesn’t bode well for the publisher when people know they have the developer by the balls AND are twisting and squeezing at the same time.

There are sometimes other reasons within the development themselves, release schedules are one. But I honestly believe IMC isn’t following any sort of roadmap at the moment, they are just trying to save their asses and bring some semblance to the game again.

I feel like IMC treats it’s players like babies overall though. It is frustrating. We have no way to turn off their kiddie censor system. Even though shiny oiled breasts are flopping on our screen all the time, yes, I know they are partially clothed, still. Secondly, their music tracks contain things like prostitute in the name.

They aren’t very transparent, and communication is rough. I’d feel the communication isn’t there because they only hire Koreans instead of an actually translator for some stuff, still, it’s just another lame excuse.

Hey don’t insult my favorite song. XD

Also I’m not sure if it’s really because of exclusive contracts with Nexon. It’s possible, but it feels unlikely. I could understand it for costumes, but a contract saying “All balance updates need to come to Nexon 3 months earlier” would be weird.

“All finalized patches are to arrive to kToS first.” That seems a bit more believable right? What if these changes aren’t finalized, what makes them finalized? Who says they are finalized? (I’m also unsure on this, but I know consoles have price points on pushing patches, does steam? I am unsure, but that could play a part too.)

As said too- I don’t feel IMC has a roadmap. We don’t even know how they delegate management between the two regions. Different people are of course working on different things as well.

I simply wish we understood more of what IMC was doing, because that is what we are missing to understand and respect the situation better. Keeping us in the dark doesn’t help anything.

How long does it take to product those complex patches do you think? I am getting frustrated seeing posts like these, where it sounds like a child complaining about not getting something he or she wants from daddy. Like children, they are unable to understand that expensive toys cost money, which requires effort and time. All the child sees is that daddy is not giving them what they want, when they want it, so daddy is out to hurt them, then whaaaaaaaaaaaa!

But that’s pretty much how it is? People have a hard time estimating how much effort something is or compare it with much larger companies and try to make up some explanation for their lack of knowledge like “Developer doesn’t care about us” or “Developer is busy making loading screens”.

Exactly…it is similar to
"Daddy don’t love be because he rather pay the electric company than buy me an Xbox"

Well those who know will try their best to explain to players to make them understand that adding patches and fixing bugs do take lots of time. Bug solving is not easy at all, most of the time to the developer it is like solving a complex equation or riddle where there are little hints to where the problem lies. This is especially evident for bugs that changes memory values where *pointers reference during runtime, so many things can affect it.

Creating new quests/content is takes even more time. So many phases and involve so many people, from writers, designers, developers, playtesters etc. IMC isn’t a huge development studio like Blizzard, they just don’t have the manpower to churn out stuff as fast as Blizzard.

Most people start to understand after breaking things down and explaining it to them, which is good. Can’t say for the rest though, sense of entitlement perhaps since they “pay for it”?

People creating loading screens, aka artists, usually don’t have anything to do with progamming and fixing the game and possibly can’t even program, so drawing new loading screens usually has no impact on the amount of bugs fixed or new content being programmed.

Barely 2 months into this game and people are demanding new content.

I’d rather a fix on optimization(why the hell does it lag when you swap weapons IMC!!!) then introduce new ■■■■ that gets broken or is broken in the first place.

Priorities guys, priorities…

agreed, ALL IMC staff should focus fixing the bug. even building janitor had to stop work and go focus to fix the bug.

Nope.
People are asking whats already in the game, but disabled here, not exactly new content.
Aka pvp, gvg.

And not because they are little kids that “whant an xbox(rofl)” but because there is nothing to do past 230.

Then how would you address these factors?

  • Ensuring arena coung to work with English clients
  • Optimization of international servers to handle gvg contents.
  • Implementing class balances across multilingual servers.
  • Ensuring areana tp rewards are not exploitable on itos due to coding differences.

Also, there are Saalus, ET, 240 dung to play with. Not to menation prepping for circle 8.

Let’s not forget that if the reward is really good, it will be infested with bots lol.

Not only bots, but players may have a way to mass tp by taking advantage of some loophole.

Could you imagine how amazing a video game would be if game developers didn’t have to work around cheaters? Sh!t… so many amazingly fun and competitive features and rewards could be in the game for players to enjoy.

This is why I get so aggressive and rude towards cheaters. They’ve effectively made gaming 75% less fun than it could be.

This is why we can’t have nice things. I f***ing hate the RMT businesses and their parasitic relationship to every single game out there.
