IMC has a deadline and needs to take drastic action

If you couldn’t already tell, the current player base is dwindling everyday because there’s no new content to keep players coming back.
Dailies are becoming chores and personally, I’ve stopped doing them.
Battle league has been closed since the game became released and players have been begging for it to be opened, IMC we know you want to not open it because of balancing reasons, but think about what will happen if you don’t. You can open PvP and it can be horribly unbalanced but keep players amused for a month or so and keep doing your bug fixes in the mean time, OR keep it closed, lose more players and kill your own game faster.
New TP shop costumes would keep people happy for awhile just because its NEW content, nobody wants more loading screens, WE WANT REAL CONTENT IMC! Use that 5% of your time making loading screens into something else, LIKE FIXING THE GAME?

If you keep putting 80% of your efforts into kToS because you want to use it as a ‘testing ground’ for the international server, you wont have your original player base anymore. Sure, you could lose all your players then just re open the game to get new players, but think about what you’re doing to your own game.

IMC, we want bug fixes, we want a better net code but we don’t want to be the neglected son/daughter of the family.

Please consider changing how you run things at IMC, even your Korean game is undergoing drastic changes, it’s losing players, this server merge says it all. Use your Korean server as a reminder that the same thing will happen to International if you don’t fix things, and fast, you have a deadline to fix a game but also provide new content to keep players entertained.

Whats more important here? A working game with no players or gradually fixing game with new contents and a reliable player base to keep your game alive?

I just wish IMc is more transparent with the problems they’re having right now. why are they not allowing new players? when? that SA server relocation issues?

I feel like IMC got real greedy. they don’t really have a plan to sustain the game and players, they just ran with the moniez.

They actually gave a valid reason, which is the game needs to be closed until optimization is done and latency problems solved. It is like how can you fix a tap when you leave it open all the time? You will have to temporary stop the water flow, apply the fixes then reopen the value again.

Lol with the numbers the game is at right now? The water supply didnt have to be shut off, its about to run out of water. New players get no info or time period on when they can even expect to play. They need to let people play this game already its been long enough.

Well, opening floodgates is also opening the gates to more botters too. This makes their efforts of manually banning bot accounts useless since they can create anytime they want if it is open. Be patient.

its easy to be patient when you get to play the game. There are so many ways to fix the bot problems @RISKorRIOT has said a few and i have seen you post stuff on it as well. They are just fixing stupid stuff and not the real issues. The longer they make players wait for the game, the less people are actually gunna come play or still be interested. Im getting to the point where im starting to lose interest as well because of the wait. I wasnt lucky enough to find the game on time and now its been WEEKS, and i have been waiting without any real info as to when i might be able to play.

Yeah, it sucks to be on the side that have to wait. My apologies.

In my opinion from the past few weeks of patches, which most of them are mediocre in nature, IMC do have some staffing problems for iToS. Probably there are only 1-2 developers slogging it out to optimize the game (the recent 2 patches are optimization patches). Other changes such as loading screens, quest text changes are usually done by other non-programmers, such as graphic designers and copywriters.

We can suggest as many ideas as we want but in the end the ball is still on IMC’s court. It is not easy to translate what we suggest into actuality, each request for change has to go through numerous rounds of internal debates, testing and refinement before committing to it. This takes boatloads of time.

Like what my client always tells me… “It is a chicken and egg thing. If we don’t develop this functionality out, we won’t know whether it is going to work or not. But if we spend time to develop it and it doesn’t function as it should, we waste the time planning and developing it. Time and money is wasted.”

Haiz.

I understand that they have issues on their side that cant be resolved instantly. My issue is that they have a working client in kToS that is receiving decent patches while we are getting little to no attention. Why are we not using the same game as kTos with English translation? Why are we always behind kToS? I dont see WoW and many other games not releasing content to everyone at one time so why cant IMC? Im frustrated because i want to play this game and have desperately asked for info in regards to when i might be able to. The frustrating part is that they give us generic answers that tell us nothing every time we ask them and now its not only bad business, but also just annoying. I am not taking this out on you btw, you have been someone on the forum i actually like reading comments from. Its just that im getting fed up with IMC’s BS.

Just announce the game is in beta already.

It really would be interesting to know why Korean developers never just synchronize their korean and international version. It’s like this with other MMORPGs too. US is often 6 months behind and EU even 12 months.

I assume they think the game needs to be adjusted based on the target group. Like I’ve seen korean developers (not IMC) saying that EU players for example like it if it’s more grindy. Which I found interesting because I always thought Korean player like to grind more. But in the end they got a point, e.g. Korean players are totally fine when a game is limited to only be played 2 hours a day, whereas international players would rage because they can’t nolife the game.

Some things are also really language-specific issues. Like the word filter. In Korean you don’t have spaces between words and a combination of certain characters is always an insult. In English it’s a much larger issue because the combination of those characters can also be part of another word or name.

I’m also pretty convinced that IMC only has 1-2 developers for iToS. I’m not even sure how many employee’s IMC has in total.

But people look to korean patches to see what they can expect in the future, then they have to wait 6 months in excitement to get it. It makes no sense in all honesty. Why not just make one game and release it everywhere? Wouldnt that give less work loads for all the development teams and allow us to get quality work at the same time as kToS?

Yes, it would. It is a great mystery to me too. I’d really love to read a developer blog about that topic. I mean IMC isn’t the only company that does it like this.

It could be anything from being convinced that the Korean style doesn’t fit the international market to contracts about time-limited exclusive content with other publishers.

Yeah youre right there might be alot going on behind the scenes. Also if its a korean based game then there might be the thought of “we want our players to have it first”, but i doubt that is the case. It would be interesting to see what they had to say on the topic.

I cant actually play it and enjoy it ether cause my internet has been down since last month…

Be patient.

cant tell who you are trolling with this. is it nekorin or me?

Why dont u take some break and come back when they add things u want ? This is just a game, not life, dont take it so serious.

Same here, I would like to know why the difference between kToS and iToS, besides the medium used to deliver the login and verification system. iToS’s choice to use Steam as a distribution and login channel might be the reason why the 2 games have to use separate bases to work. Another reason might be Nexon wants kToS to be the pioneer in receiving updates.

But then what confuses me is the balancing ktos gets, shouldn’t all these be separate from the login/verification system? The devs should be able to implement it fast especially for things such as increasing damage for certain skills or changing the damage/buff formula. All these are simple changes which just require a change in a variable or a few lines of code to implement.

It will be Q&A soon right? It will be really good if the devs take note of this and give us a reply.

Some of us enjoy games and use them as a hobby. You have a different lifestyle than some of us. Cant force ideals that you have on people. I dont mean that in a mean way im just saying.

its friday i believe for the Q&A. It would be good to ask them things for better understanding, but i would like to receive a good answer.
