IMC: Game reopening, server stability unfixed

No, I’m saying IMC should spend more money to make all their players play on more stable servers.
I’m not the only one affected by this, you know, there’s a Mexican up in the thread with this same issue.

But the problem isn’t in SA, it’s in their servers and the mediators of all the ISPs with them. Their servers get way too overloaded and then lag starts happening, best choice is being close to the server right now so when you get triple lag, the triple lag will be 90ms and not 300ms+ like for people outside NA/Central America.

This is getting nowhere because no one is providing any data to make a test and a well done suggestion/request to send IMC because instead of giving info everyone is just bitching and insulting.

I feel like you’re misunderstanding what we’re saying here. The problem isn’t you or IMC. It’s the “highways” between the two of you. Your ISP can only hand out tickets to the slower lanes, whereas others get more and faster lanes that are easier to get on and off of.

I think the problem with the game is the game optimization. Though personally I don’t lag anymore (I don’t have potato PC) I think the main reason is a lot of people is not playing anymore compared to starting days. (and a lot of bots got banned). Oh well lets see when they open the servers if it will lag or not.

But the problem is that my highway, and the highway of many other players have a queue because of ToS’ server’s “tollbooth” which gets slow when many players are on.

Looking at the domain - you’re located in Argentina. Which is spanning around 5000 miles to north american servers (going through Miami). If my calculation is right, it was take 27ms traveling at the speed of light.

Also it does look like you’re apart of some large network 192 and 10 are private address ranges (as others mentioned).

Honestly the best way to see if it’s IMCs fault or just your connection is to ping a similar located server (preferably a game server as other services could redirect you to to a local server or a cache server or something similar).

No, no, no! The queue is not from IMC! The “Toll Booth” as you put it is Telecom Italica, before you get off of the highway. It’s right there in your trace.

Then how can we explain that stuff is stable right after tos maint finishes and almost no one is on?
Telecom Italia has a maint at the same day and time or what?

so if we put it into the highway example, when Tree’s maint ends, the highway is free and clear. As more people realize maint is over, more people get on the highway, the more people hit Italica’s toll booth, which has been running the same since it started. Each person has to wait here lets say 10 seconds.

You try going to IMC to tell them you’re using blessing, at Italica’s toll booth there’s 15 people in front of you, so you’re forced to wait 160 seconds in order to pass Italica’s toll both to reach IMC, where you go “I’m using blessing” IMC responds with “OK” and you go on your merry way.

Later, you go to IMC to tell them you’re using Shape Shift. At Italica’s booth there is now 230 people in front of you. You now have to wait 3,750 seconds to pass Italica’s booth to reach IMC, where you go “I’m using Shape Shift” and IMC responds with “OK” and you go on your merry way.

See the difference?

So it’s the “highway” between Telecom Italia and ToS which has the delay, so I can do nothing to fix it unless ToS responds faster to make the queues shorter .

It’s specifically the toll booth owned by Italica. IMC has nothing to do with that in particular.

But TeleItalia queues data because ToS can’t handle them.
We need more tracerts

Italica services tons of traffic heading to and from many locations. The queueing is not from Tree not being able to handle connections, but Italica’s toll booth getting congested because everyone who gets to Italica’s equipment has to wait for Italica to push people into the proper lanes before accepting another person.

In this case it’s a scale issue, Italica is servicing MILLIONS of people, so we can assume several thousand people are all using Italica’s network to reach Miami. These people are all being funneled into a few lines, travelling to and from.

I’ve attempted to make a crappy paint diagram to show the comparison of your own traffic vs what italica has to service, hopefully it makes sense.

You are green, everyone else is red. The blocks directly under the word “Italica” is the proportion of how much time italica spends on you vs everybody else.

What I cannot understand is why Tel Ita only stops having problems for 30 mins after ToS maint is over, and not at the same time on any other day. It is ToS servers which make the difference between lagging or not with Tel Ita.
Your graphic would be correct if Tel Ita was exclusive for ToS servers.
The traffic is the same everyday at that time period, yet only when ToS maint is over there is no lag. Quite a coincidence, don’t you think?
