IMC, can we get empty team names released when the game goes F2P?

So currently, there are a lot of Team Names taken by name squatters who created empty accounts on different servers to reserve names in advance. Many of these name squatters either have no intention of using those team names (and intend to sell off these team names for real money once the game goes F2P), or have already quit the game and no longer play.

As Team Names are unique across all servers, the pool of available names goes down the more accounts that exist. In fact, I myself was unable to grab any of the team names I wanted due to lag and login issues day 1, and found that all of the names that I had wanted ended up taken by name squatters. Even now, nearly two weeks after early access has started, not a single character has been created on any of these accounts, showing that they are not being actively used at all.

My plea to IMC is to release Team Names from empty, un-used accounts once the game goes F2P, so that those of us who lost our names to name-squatters have the opportunity to get them once again. Again, note that I only specify UNUSED, EMPTY ACCOUNTS - this would NOT affect any team name that has an existing character! This would ONLY affect empty accounts with only a Team Name but no characters at all. Anyone with an existing Team Name that they would like to keep can do so simply by creating a character on it. If you worked hard to log in early and reserve a Team Name that you wanted, all you have to do is spend 5 seconds to create a character in order to keep it!

Many other MMORPGs do similar things after F2P releases - by releasing unused names, you allow the new wave of joining players to get names that they wanted, boosting the possibility that they keep playing. You also allow existing, dedicated players to grab names that they wanted but missed out on. Lastly, you even get existing players who quit to come back and create a character in order to keep their reserved names, which often motivates them to give the game a second chance!

So IMC, please consider this as a possibility for F2P release. Thank you for your attention! @STAFF_Ethan @Staff_Julie

even better, a purge every so often, so that dead/inactive accounts don’t squat on names till the end of time.

like… during maintenances, scan the database, and any account that hasn’t been logged into for say… 6 months? is flagged inactive, their team name is automatically changed to something else… maybe like from “Executor” to “$_Executor_inactive1” (and if another Executor went inactive, it could be _inactive2 etc)

then if/when they log back in, they’re automatically prompted to select a new team name.
of course, most peoples’ first reaction would be to attempt to re-pick the same name as before… you could even have it in the dialog box…

"Due to inactivity, your team name was released. Your old team name was Potatoflakes. That team name is currently (red,unavailable/green, available). Please enter the team name you would like: _____________ "
