IMC are doing exactly the kind of egregious atrocities that TotalBiscuit warned us of

He warned to be careful of companies shoving Micro-Transactions down your throat.
He says:
“…a real beta does not charge, when you start charging, its not a beta anymore, it’s just a game that is unfinished and yet has the gall to charge money anyway…”

Not only does ToS have currently the most ridiculous and frankly insulting P2W system i have ever seen within a MMORPG (trade behind a paywall),
they are doing this in a PAID "beta-test"period. Normally, companies should PAY WORKERS to do their beta-testing. Instead, not only is IMC not paying workers, it is taking advantage of the unaware customers that PAY IMC in order to beta-test their P2W and B2P broken beta game.

I can’t say how severely I am disappointed IMC, I was going to spend tons of my time and money in this game, but I won’t allow myself or anyone i care about do that anymore.

Please fix these issues or you will successfully kill your own game after taking whatever money you’ve managed to get.

Edit: user @ DrRM brought up wonderful videos that add depth to the explanation and the discussion:

Edit 2: If you looked at the first video by Extra credits they do every single thing they say you are supposed to NOT DO when using micro transactions:

  1. Made players feel that they HAVE to pay.
  2. Locked content ( a very very key part of it) behind a paywall.
  3. Divided the community.
  4. Sold "power"in game.
  5. Did not make the game with micro transactions in mind.
As anyone who played the iCBT will know, all of these restrictions were not present a few months ago. They were tacked at the very end as a way to suck money out of players; as is made obviously by the absence of the personal shops (which were amazing), and by how useless many of the old "merchant"based classes are now (like alchemist).
Overall the micro transaction scheme strictly takes away from the experience and adds nothing.
  6. Not market testing their prices.
Items within the game have ridiculous price tags. The trade-system itself does too when it forces you to pay over 15 dollars a month just to be allowed to have a basic function.
Anyone who knows anything at all about Economics can tell you this is far away from the natural market equilibrium and will actually hurt IMC in the long run by lowering their profits from an unfavorable exchange ratio of customers per marginal revenue increase.

Look, it’s not that I hate the game. Far from that, I LOVE IT, and i want it to flourish, be amazing and have a vibrant community that will last for years. But at the current rate, with the ridiculous monetization scheme they’re using, it will kill the game very very quickly.

Enchant scrolls. That’s pretty P2W.

enchant scroll.

mostly if the given stats are critical attack crit rate magic ampli

you only see +40 crit attack on rare items but enchant scroll gives you that if you are lucky and sometimes can give 3 major stats like crit attack

Trading being behind a paywall is already as ridiculous as it is.

The lack of a free trading system which is a FUNDAMENTAL and essential mechanic of the game. It is completely unfair not to have it for free players

If you were truly intent on spending “tons of [your] time and money,” complaining about a minuscule, optional aspect of gameplay and blowing it up to be a game-breaking, kinda contradicts that.

I don’t really see how the trading issue makes the game P2W. You can purchase a token with silver. And even if you don’t, you’re able to get through all the game content without trading.

I think they should just make the auction house a bit less restrictive, then they could do away with trading all together. That would also be a good blow to the gold sellers.

I bought the $30 pack, and feel 0 pressure to spend any more cash. The only thing that gives cash players a tangible advantage is enchant scrolls. If they decreased the cost to 5 TP bam done.

I have to agree with cos on the part about their purpose of EA, chances are they are testing it to see if its effective or tolerable(which isnt)
But I cant br 100% certain, so its more like a speculation

That’s exactly what they are doing, they’re trying to see how much they can get away with.

Yes i’m the unreasonable one, reviewing a game while you tell me to kill myself. People should flag you. And fyi inciting violence is a crime.

Just ignore him. He’s trying to be edgy by voicing an unpopular opinion in an offensive way. He wants attention. Ignore him and eventually it’ll be his bed time.

nah, when u have 1.2k+ dmg, those 40 wont make any diference

And prior to that, in the early game? It’s still a stat gain and it’s still P2W.
