Im the only thinking that bots affect more the economy of the game than the TP/Token exploit?

I mean, with the exploit you have more item of a kind (token), but that isnt “physical” silver, you know? Players still have to gain the amount of silver to buy it.

Now, bots creates alot of silver, increasing the total amount of silver in the game and making the value of silver inflate

But people are making more drama/attention to the exploit instead of the bots… Why?

because people would prefer to have something new to complain about.

bots are old news in ToS, and especially old news in general.

plus it gives people an excuse to blame the Brazilians for yet another something, whether it’s actually their fault or not.

Because baits, dude. This forum is packed with anglers, and bots don’t bite.

EDIT: Seriously, Deprox, get some treatment, this whole bait thing is starting to consume you.

Bots ain’t sheet of paper (kek). Trove has crap management and the bot herders just left because they weren’t making any money with their spamming :stuck_out_tongue:. So few of them were actually banned, most were just blocked by the players.

Which is odd, because the community is nothing but casuals…

actually this is probably the reason right there.

RMT works -mostly- on/for/with 2 groups…
1 - those who can’t put the effort in anymore, due to some sort of life change (marriage, family, accident, etc…)
2 - those who simply won’t put the effort in, because they feel entitled (“i’m rich, and i should be allowed to throw money at it if i want to” or “it’s just a game, who cares, i’m only cheating a little bit.” etc.)

a bunch of casuals aren’t going to go investing real money into buying game money and fancy items through shady dealers. they just aren’t invested enough to risk wasting it all.

which makes me wonder, we suggest that the hardcore gamers care a lot more about their participation in a game… so why is it that some of them (or at least hardcore “wannabes”) are willing to risking throwing that participation away entirely for some kind of intangible advantage?

Because it is the bots that buy those tokens and give those cheaters the silver they needed, which obviously crash the economy.

It’s pretty simple, Trove isn’t competitive, you go in, farm and craft stuff, enjoy life. Most other MMOs are competitive (ranking, leaderboard and such) so if someone paid to climb to the top, other hardcore players (and wannabe) will also pay to climb. It’s not about the advantage, it’s about how fast you get to the top.
