I'm starting to HATE the RNG

So we have this lovely event that gives us (almost free) Diamond Anvils. Four of them…

I have a nice +11 primus staff with 2 potential left which I want to use the DAs on, maybe I will be lucky and get it to +15…

Think again… first two tries of course fail, item now has 0 potential, last DAs cannot be used on it (well I could use them but I’m pretty sure the next try will fail again and eat the item, so no thanks…).

So I go waste the last 2 anvils on armor… and of course they work :sob:

lllll

this is the reason why people uninstall this game

I think this is edited, at 12 potential its statiscally impossible to reach this even with diamond anvil and a LOT of tries

When I started to play, I thought Diamond Anvils were insanely good because I thought they didn’t lower potential when failing to enhance. Seeing how it’s not the case, I can’t imagine how you can enchant stuff to high values (people posting +21, +25 and even higher)… If you suppose you start enchanting at +5 with DAs only and that your chance of success is 50% (it’s actually a bit higher but shouldn’t matter much), your 13 potential Primus Raffye Staff will become +18 with 0 potential left eating a good 26 DAs in the process. And that’s if you give up on socketing your item. Good luck with that…

So what’s the catch? Do people use multiple items and some weird RNG manipulation technique? I think I’ve seen people do this with three items at the same time, enchanting with DAs until one fails and then rotating between items to have more chances of getting a “success streak” on one of the items. This of course is reserved to players with access to unlimited silver and supplies of DAs…

I’ve also seen +15 items with full potential… how the hell do you manage to do such prowess? That’s almost succeeding 10 coin flips in a row… Or are there special anvils that always succeed? I’ve heard about “platinum” anvils, is that what they do?
