After 3-4h of reading and reading xD and see that palas cant tank, (tanks arent that necesary here :'v) i decided going a monk, but i want it to be PVE oriented, i read that C1-P1-P2-P3 is PVP so :L.
But i really dunno what to do right now xD.
I want a monk that can be good at late.
And i need help with stats too xD i know they need STR and CON, but how much?.
I would like my monk to be a little tanky ? i dunno guys my mind isnt working well xD been reading threads for like 4h xDD.
If doesnt mind, i really well explained build would be fine.
a DPS - Tanky Monk or something that is meta and will work well in late.
Monk will never be meta unless they rework its skill kit. If you want something that you feel you’d be able to use at all points of the game, or and has the same but stronger DPS support variant, pick another Cleric build.
But if you really like Monk and don’t care about the meta, then welcome aboard!
Monks usually go between the following routes:
Cleric C1 -> Priest C3 -> Monk C3
Basic cookie cutter Monk build, works very well in PvP, decent in PvE. Might have viability issues late game, quite powerful at early game. It’s a defensive route for Monks. You can also resurrect people.
Cleric C2 -> Diev C2 -> Monk C3
Alternate cookie cutter build, works somewhat better than Priest route at end game. Fair PvP, but amazing PvE potential. Playstyle might not be your cup of tea, so check it first. It’s a more offensive counterpart compared to Priest, which is more defensive.
Cleric C2 -> Priest C2 -> Monk C3
Basically a variant of the Priest route, works fairly well if you like Cleric C2 skills and if you are willing to give up Stone Skin from Priest C3. Possibly better at PvP than Priest C3 route due to additional heal tiles + stronger safety zone.
Cleric C1 -> Krivis C3 -> Monk C3
Somewhat an experimental build, people say it’s been amazing so far, but I haven’t been able to obtain information about how it works endgame. Alternatively you can go Cleric C2 -> Krivis C2 instead, to take advantage of C2 Cleric skills.
There’s also the Bokor Monk, but I’m not really sure how they work.
Tanks are mostly reserved for Swordsmen. But if you want to be tanky, you can be, you just need to allocate a bunch of stats on CON. Mostly however, you’ll be playing the role of a support-DPS in a party.
For stats, only three to watch for: STR, CON and DEX. If you want to PvP, you should consider at least 200 DEX minimum, if not, you can stick with at least 100~150. CON varies, PvE focused builds go for 50 but you can get up to 100 for PvP and endgame, where monsters start to really hurt. Rest of the points should go to STR of course. Focus on 1:1 STR DEX at early levels, increase CON if enemies start to hit too hard.
Stone Skin without SPR is actually pretty decent. It’s not 100% block but it’s something.
Yeah, I figured you didn’t like Diev statue playstyle, so Priest route might be better for you. But Diev statues aren’t really that difficult, and do note that Monk playstyle consists of spamming mostly just one ability - Double Punch - and Dievs have great synergy with this, as you just place statues and let them do all the work.
C2 P2 is actually what a couple of my friends are doing and they’re enjoying it so far. You don’t really have to worry about Stone Skin anymore since you have a lot more tools in exchange, such as Fade, Divine Might, and a very efficient Safety Zone. You’ll also pretty much be a healing monster with level 10 Heal and Mass Heal, and it’s one big problem Monks tend to face at late game since they don’t have any INT to make their heal scale better.
Proceed with the last build with a bit of caution since I’m not sure how it goes, but I believe there are a couple of players around the forum with the build at the moment, so you can ask them.
I sort of fixed your build for you, see if you like it.
Deprotect Zone isn’t that useful at higher levels, leave it at 1 for utility along with Cure. I also placed 3 points on Fade which is amazing to use with Energy Blast so you can use it without any fear of interruption during casting. It’s also great for questing in general and allows you to dodge certain ground-based skills. Fade also affects your team mates, which is nice.
Zaibas, despite being int/matk based, will actually still deal a fair amount of damage so long as you have a blunt weapon. You should max it out. Aukuras can be left at level 1, it’s not that useful and will only be used for its soft taunt (soft taunt = lure enemies into the torch)
You should also consider getting at least level 1 God Finger Flick because it will be given a brand new debuff in the future, although not sure when that is.
Of course, take everything I said with a grain of salt. I’m not convinced with Krivis route as of yet, I still mostly prefer Priest or Diev routes.
C2 Diev and C2 Krivis are definitely not the same. Yes, they are both offensive, but that doesn’t mean they do the same thing.
No need for SPR. As I said, Stone Skin is fine on its own.
I have a feeling you’re getting confused about the whole offensive and defensive thing. In that case, just don’t mind what I said and focus more on what kind of skills you get on each route, and see which one you prefer.
ok im decided xD gonna try de diev build i made one myself
-Edit
Ill focus more on str than dex cuz i saw a video that dex isnt that important, ill have like 100 obviously at late game for accuracy purposes but first str.
So ill start as a cleric, so ill put points on str (con and dex after) cuz of the final build (monk) inst it?
-Edit
my comments are getting “flagged” xD why?
lol who is flagging his posts? xD
dunno :l im giving propper rights to the creators of the builds xD
haha, well anyway im using the diev-monk route, and its pretty effective. carve can 1 shot most monsters and dont even get me started on plant monsters (which there are a lot of suprisingly, some dont even look like plant type), and owl <3. its pretty semi-tanky, i say semi bcuz ur not tanking, but ur statues taunt enenmies and have very high hp, and can be healed so basiclly ur not tanking, but the staues are, if u want to tank all u have to do is put down statues after u pull aggro yourself, and put a lot of con, and iron skin/golden bell sheild, and the world tree is efffective for tanking bcuz it makes monsters not be able to attaxk.its also pretty offensive.
well thanks for the advice.
One more thing whats the thing with the attributes?
i should have leather armor? and what are the best for monks?
plate armor or lather, preferably plate
Oh, kk thnx and for attributes? i can buy all? but there better ones to buy first inst it?.
