I'm looking for a durable and fast killer class

I’m going to start a new character tuesday to play with some friends of mine but I have no idea what to do so I’d like to hear your opinion.

THINGS I DON’T LIKE

  1. Die, even with zero penalty it just hurts me so I need a class with incredible survivability.
  2. Slow killing, downtimes, elaborate combos to set up, I’m looking for a simple class that can grind easily and kill bosses fast.
  3. Smashing keys ( EXAMPLE ), really I’m not that young anymore so I’d like to avoid anything that requires fast reflexes/counters.
  4. Poor mobility, if possible I’d like a movement speed buff or a dodge.

I have no preferences between ranged/melee and I’m going to play mostly PvE. I was thinking a cleric hybrid build like Paladin, Chaplain etc but like I said I just looked into mages and I don’t think they’ll be the right choice here.

Thanks bros.

tl:dr: Gimme the broken class.

“durable and fast killer class” more like what everyone wants to have but doesn’t exist. Really, you’re asking for the best in every aspect, but if there was such a class, don’t you think everyone would go for that?

That’s not quite how it works.

Archers have great dps and mobility, but are squishy. Swordmen, even if built for dps, are more tanky and never reach the damage output of archers and wizards. Wizards have plenty of buffs and damage, but have plenty of cast time and cds. Clerics can have some nice self-sustainability and damage.

You need to focus on one or two of your wishes, and rather look for 'no-go’s. Damage usually comes at the cost of less hp/def. Support classes can boost your (and your party’s) damage and survivability, but are more complicated to work with.

I think you should look either into auto-attacl/machine gun archers (Quarrel Shooter and more, other archer classes tend to be skill-spammy/keymashy) or a Cleric build, maybe monk or plague doctor (the later has some combo setup tho).

Chrono (wizard) has a movement speed buff. But chrono is a support class and wiz doesnt have the survivability you want I think.

Best is to look through all classes, focus on the one that looks most promising and then research suitable builds. Almost every class can be worked into a solo/party/dps/support/tank/whatever build.

Archer C1,
Ranger C1,
Hunter C1(more complex) or Ranger C2,
Scout C1(for cloaking) or Ranger C3 or Hunter C2 (for high CC),
Fletcher C1,
Rogue C1,
Rogue C2 at rank 7…

And my recomended build is 4/2/1 str/con/dex
STR for extra assassin damage, CON for survivality, DEX to boost dodge buffs and avoid crit chance reduction, because you will have near 100% crit chance by skill buffs.

How does it works?
First to say, at first 3 ranks you are going to kill almost every boss by 2~5 hits.
The it gets slowly until you get 2/3 fletcher skills, but you will then kill every mob by 1~3 hits as rogue. And that is similar vs players.

How to play it?
If you have your pet send it to the target to attack it, doing ~2k dmg per seconnd at late game and boosting your crit chance by 40% against it. Then you hit your bleeding arrow to your target dealing massive damage and just after it, Vendetta that deals doble damage against bleeding targets.
After it, in seconds you have to cloaking and place behind your target to use the rogue C2 skill -> Backstab that deals tons damage and applies the “Massive Bleeding” to the bleeding target.
It should die soon by bleeding if not for the damage, if not, just backstab again, it has an overheat of 2.

:slight_smile:

It has nice dodge, nice crit chance, good survivality, cloaking, move speed boost, and tons of damage, and some good CC.
The bad thing is you are single target assassin, except for ranger C1 skill barrage for PVE, anyway beside I say you can ranger C3, i recommend Hunter and Scout.

cleric->priest3->chaplain and lol as your auto attack out dps’s swordman and certan other class combo’s. It out dps’s the hell out of a monk thats for sure.

@Mirarara
Obviously I’m well aware that there isn’t any class with ALL the things I like, I just made a list to give you an idea.

@bunnimal1
Yes, like I said in the title the two things that I’d like to focus on are durability and good damage, I’m not looking for the alltimebest but just something that isn’t boring to level (frequent downtimes, long cooldowns, etc.).

@carlosgiu
I’m a bit worried about the squishiness of the archer, from what I undertand cloaking doesn’t work like the stealth in other games and targeting specific mobs from range is a chore.

@Scyris
I’m really impressed by those buffs that make you oneshot everything in dungeon, I’m more and more interested in the cleric subclasses, is the chaplain the more offensive one?

Chaplain is not the most offensive, but it’s OP right now, of course it deals lots of damage, but specifically the offensive one is monk, but it deals and scales by physical attack, so you can say Chaplain is the most offensive magic damage dealer in the Cleric subclasses.

Cloaking works similar to Ragnarok Online Cloaking, adding movespeed (by attribute) making you semi-invisible and adding extra damage when hitting and revealing you. They can see you, but they can’t target you, so you have to worry about AoE damage.

You can’t possibly be serious about this

Alternatively, full con cyro 3 something else 3, don’t remember the combo

Use a Chaplain dude.

I didn’t understand, are you saying that an INT based Chaplain can deal a lot of melee damage? How come? How can you hit the target without accuracy (DEX)?

About cloaking, can I skip all the aggro if I don’t hit anything?

Lol u are fergetting the cure and exorcise.
Im chaplain 152 with 60 con and full int.im doing with cure around 1400 per tick and exorcese 900 per tick more around 3k with the 5 hits of auto atk.
I have toy hammer and arde dagger and we havent damagelogs but in fedimian bosses nobody get more agro that me,only swasbuclimg can steal me agro so im pretty sure that at lvl 152 chaplain is the best dps single

I’m going to read some guides but it seems weird that it does more damage than druid, PD or paladin/monk.
