So everyone knows about that big kappa that’s hanging out just outside miner’s town on a 15 second-ish respawn timer. It gives you a big minimap indicator, cool loot and some nice xp, and a chance to bash a boss with random people. Cool deal! So where are the bosses in other zones?
I’ve seen a boss other than the big kappa once, in Gele Plateau. It wasn’t marked on the map. The group I was farming with at the time didn’t even realize I was fighting a boss until I typed in party chat that they should come kill it with me. Heck, i barely noticed I was fighting a boss until i realized the thing i was hitting wasn’t dead after 2-3 hits.
Anyway I’ve scoured the map since then looking for that boss again and I haven’t seen him since. Did he spawn somewhere else? Is his respawn timer 24 hours? I have no idea. He dropped some set item gloves for me and I would like a chance at adding to the set.
So anyway, here’s what I’d like
- Lower respawn time on public bosses (other than big kappa, obviously)
- A mapwide notification that the public boss has spawned
- A public boss in each zone. Or at least every other zone.
- A one time quest to draw your attention to the public boss of the zone and let you know where he spawns.
It’s kind of sad that you only have one chance to kill quest bosses and dip into their loot tables. Public bosses don’t have those problems, but currently are poorly implemented. It would be nice to get a break from the monotony of the grind for an occasional shot at some good loot.
