I want to do all the story & maps! Best class?

Hi, again!

I hit the forums up earlier this week to nail down a supportive class build. After grinding to 100, I realized I’m probably still too new to the game to level that quickly. So, I want to make a new character to enjoy ALL of the quests and storyline with. Something I can level myself, slowly, to progress through completing all of the maps (like getting 100% on them). What’s a good class for this? I have no gear. I have no funds. I’m starting at ground zero and just planning to quest (most likely alone). When I feel I’ve learned enough, then I’ll crazy-level other classes! I know leveling will be much slower this way, but I’m not looking at speed now. Thoughts? I’ll take builds from any class branch! :3

Thanks again. :blossom:

Greeting savior!

I really like your attitude, too bad we’re not in the same server or else I’ll surely pick you up for playmate

Cleric will defintely be the best branch for mostly solo play while gradually learning tos stuff and require little investment. However, you may probably looking for other branch since you already have one cleric?

I’m not excel in archer or wizard branch, but if you’re interested to play swordman tree. I personally think that “traditional spear corsair” will answer your objective the best. The build will be something like

Sw c2 > hop c2 > corsair c3 > last rank of your choice
(be it shinobi/sw c3/hop c3/doppel c1, though I persoanlly choose shinobi)

summary of my reasons:

  • By basic equipment and small-to-zero fund, hoplite should be the best swordie to help you handle monsters.
  • True that hoplite c2 may be pale in comparison to other build regarding AoE, but that will make you learn about positioning. Also the problem will be lessen once you start rank 5 with corsair. Jolly Roger help you gather mob along with somce nice AoE skills - dust devil and pistol shot.
  • Corsair by itself will also help you gather up extra silver/rare loots very nice with the exclusive attribute pillage. You’re also welcomed in party with your unique utility
  • If you try to master using hook skill, you will learn a lot about movement mechanic of both monsters and players.
  • etc.

There’re still a lot to explain about this build, so feel free to PM me if you’re interested in my recommended path.
At any rate, have fun exploring tos savior. :slightly_smiling_face:

For the low lvl maps any build will do. The high lvl ones are alot easier then they used to be, but i do belive you will find it most enjoyable with a cleric2-xxxx-PD2.

I went for this build myself:

@GrimgarHaru I PM’d you, but I noticed the swordie build looks like it weapon swaps. I’d rather roll a new cleric than weapon swap. XD Does it have to swap weapons during combat? I couldn’t quite tell from watching gameplay.

Tree of clerics. Best build for solo/party pve is cleric c2 diev 3 miko pd
U can also do it with cata c3 corsair for mobility and farm assistance with pillage

Cleric2 - Diev 3 - Miko - PD2 are the old pre-patch meta.
Cleric2 - Bokor - Sadhu3 - PD2 and Cleric2 - Priest3 - Chaplain - PD2 are the new meta.

To take your time, enjoy the game (what I do) and learn the game bit by bit, a Cleric is good.
But I wouldn’t recommend a full support, unless you go Chaplain, because you’ll kill things quite slowly after you reach a certain level.
Dievdirbys’ Owls got much weaker, so I wouldn’t recommend it either. Stationery + not-so-good damages might make it annoying to quest…
Maybe Bokor and/or Sadhu ? I find Sadhu really fun to play, but it’s always been one of my favourite classes (since CBT), so I’m not objective on that :stuck_out_tongue: Druid is nice too~

I always enjoy questing/doing maps on archers too. They can walk while hitting mobs and they’re ranged, so it makes questing pretty smooth. In some areas it might be tougher since some mobs might hurt you a bit more and you have no heals, but personally I find that fun and interesting as well. It allows you to learn how to correctly fight solo and know you limit too, imo ._.

I suggest you get a swordsman since they can run, and you will walk a lot.

If you want to go even faster, take a chrono or a cataphrat.

Also use this map which shows he order of doing the quests:

to put it simple… take those any can use mounts… at least that will solve the running…

sword3cata3 or cryo3chrono3 or any swordy

movespeed is key

imo u can do it with EVERY class  just play game with class u like the most, what i can suggest u is:

1 cleric, why? u have heal and nice damage  and if u going for priest u even dont need mana potion cuz u will put your points in to SPR
i like two cleric buidls: first : c2>pries3>chaplain>pd2 second: c2chaplain>miko>inquisitor  those buidls are really fun, adn uc an solo everything in game :stuck_out_tongue:
2.wizard, why ? nice damage and support! u can wait till new patch will come and pick summoner class cuz they damage will be VERY nice, like pyro3/cyro3/sorc3>sage or pyro3/cryo3/sorc2>necro2 or cryo3/sorc1>necro3  u will have better survi with those classes than normal wizard :stuck_out_tongue: if u dont like summoner class u can go for pure dps class like wiz3>ele3>warlock1=2 or buffer like pyro3thauma3>enchanter or pyro2>thauma3>warlock2 it just depend what playing style u like the most

I still haven’t ruled out a cleric. Those builds sound fun! As far as mages go, what about a pyro3chrono3sage? I tried out cryo and didn’t like it as much. :3

If you just want an character that is able to finish the whole PvE content Solo or in party, you just need an Archer type.

Why?

  • You can just auto-attack until the very end-content.
  • You dont need to get close to a mob, you just need to press the auto-attack button or the skill button, and the mob will die whatever he or you are. (do a test first, see how easily is at the beggining, you cant imagine how much more easily it become at the end, when come to distance to walk).
  • You dont need to get close to mobs, so you dont take so much damage as other classes.
  • If you have patience to go to a city and buy buffs, you can finish all the quests very easily.

What archer build? Its your choice.

There are many options,
What you need to keep in mind is that low Ranks are just an base for the High ranks, what means you need always to choose the Last Ranks first in order to choose the lower rank (Rank 1 to Rank 5)

chrono is nice as a buffer but comibination with pyro is not so nice cuz pyro alone is just a weak damage dealer :frowning: thauma buffing your pyro thats why is a way better choice :stuck_out_tongue: and with summons pyro is just a filler  (after summoners patch ofc :P)
