Reasonable silver farming methods have now become very tedious, it’s not supposed to feel like work but still feel like you’re playing a game reaching a goal. Why bother spending hours doing something when you can just program an AI to do it for you while you sleep or do other things and then come back and actually play the game after the tedious work as been done. Namely making money to repair and upgrade to keep going.

I played RO for many, many years. Without a doubt, one of it’s aspects that was absolutely terrible that made the game extremely unappealing for new players was how terrible the market was for long stretches of time. You pretty much had to farm 1/10,000 drop rate cards, not any card mind you, you’d have to research the market as a new player… Then after farming that particular monster, with starting gear, you’d then have to spend a long time trying to sell said card…yeah, pretty bad. For reference, this is someone who made a lot of her money from farming about 30 Teddy Bear Cards when Necros came out.
I liked many things about RO, but there are a LOT of areas that were very poor about RO. In-fact, RO was an incomplete game and remained so. During release, it was attacked by hackers early on and it caused a lot of strife within the company and many core staff had to quit. The game was barely a shadow of what they had intended and it really did and does show. RO has a lot of good points that made it through though (the longest one I played, 7+ years), but the market? Absolutely not one of them.
I understand that they likely want to lower silver generation, but, 1/10th of prices is very radical. I would of at least moved gradually and examined the effect. Right now the marketplace is pretty much destroyed at the momment and will likely remain so for a good while. Not exactly the smartest move for a beta test. I’m not sure what test data they can get from crashing a market. Shifting prices to 1/10th their profit value after a market has already been established on previous prices has little to no relataibility to if the prices were 1/10th their value from the beginning. So yeah, extremely poor choice no matter how you look at it.
Looking at the prices though, I’m not sure how someone can reasonably make use of upgrading items and attributes and such at 1/10th their value. Seeing as the Beta Test rates are 3x value for exp, even spending more time grinding compared to now, I don’t see enough money coming in with the new prices to make use of all the game’s features to build your character up. Opting to use pots alone seems like it would take up all your funds.

I fully agree with you especially on the aspects of RO. I fortunately started playing RO when the forest map with the green dragon MVP was released I forgot the name… the fairies there dropped mirrors and flowers that sold for a chuck of zenny using a merchant and i farmed there non-stop which was fantastic, and given the nature that it was a high level place i never saw anyone botting because it was just too dangerous to.
As for the silver… I think it was fine the gain amount, it was fair… what probably throws off the game is how heavy it rely’s on silver maybe add an extra currency for other things such as leveling attributes and an extra requirement for upgrading weapons besides silver. There’s many ways to solve this not just leave everything as it is and require more of the players time to do basic things that only get in the way of progression.

lol what i have not once farmed for money and i still have lots. Are you buying tons of stuff off the AH that you could be making / getting yourself maybe.

Okay complaining in a close beta game.
Why not make a proper post and put it in the suggestion area and have a adult like conversation not like cry babies complaining this and that the game is not yet release for crying out loud.
making a statement is crying like a baby? if you’re such an adult why don’t you be a bit more mature about it and give constructive criticism instead of one complaining about such a complaint. And sadly the suggestion forums doesn’t always work it’s of-ten down and often you can’t make new posts.
How do you know they’re not using macro’s ? or a program to do other things. leaving the buttom press might be fine for those not using the pc I suppose. Should be extra easy for them to change a few settings.
