I think you guys are forgetting something

First off, I am well aware there are a lot of big issue and bugs with the game now, and people are complaining that IMC isn’t doing anything about it. I worked with a company as a CM that were in the same boat as TOS right now (Korean based game then translated to English for the intwrnational players.)

People tend to have the misconception on how much “power” the western “developers” have when it come to making changes, the game is designed based on the Korean population which I considered as the more controlled population. And any major changes/bug fixes will have to go through the Korean developers. Not saying that’s 100% the case for iTOS, but I am pretty sure it is. The korean servers/population are more gated and controlled compare to the international side of things so they weren’t really prepared for the influx of bots and gold spammers.

Having that said, there are definitely things that they can do to help with the overall health of the game and servers.

  1. Server stability: This is something they really need to focus on, adding more servers and channels will improve the experience drastically. Even assigning a couple of servers towards the daily dungeons will help a lot. This should be IMC’s number 1 priority.

  2. Spawn rates: If you are the lucky few that get to take days off or you are a streamer that can clock in 12-20 hours a day on a game then good for you, because you probably have the good grind and quest areas all to yourselves. But for the people that are working and studying, peek hours are a nightmare. It was still acceptable in cbt because of the spawn rates, but now we are dealing with a bigger population with a nerfed spawn rates, which encourages a lot of KSing… making the lvling/questi ng experience really unappealing. The lag and stability issue definitely doesn’t help.

  3. Megaphones: what the ■■■■ are these? this is not maple story, it is bad enough that I have to turn off the display or turn off chat altogether, but the amount of lag these stupid things generate is just ridiculous. Either set a limit of how many you can use per minute, or having a level requirement for them, or just remove them completely.

  4. KS issue: it is bad enough that you give support and tank class little to no utility to level alone, but the more dmg delt = full benefit mechanic needs to go.

5: Collection quests: This is not the early 2000s anymore, I don’t think it’s hard to code so items you need to collect for quests spawn for individual players.

Anyways, give them a little time and see how it goes, they should have more money to deal with a lot of the issues when the money from steam reaches their account.

IMC is a Korean company.

The IMC we interact with is a US division of that same Korean company.

This means that they if they want to request IMC-Korea to do something, they can simply meet in person, email or call them and say hey, send over that source-code so we can tweak it to our Marketbase/customers.

But even if the above things weren’t true, the point still stands that…

IMC SAID they will be developing the international version DIFFERENTLY from the Korean version

(And so far that has been the case. (Like with our gimped 2-daily dungeon runs.)

Mark my reply as “Solved.” This topic is done.

Yes definitely, the coding and bug fixes just fall out of the sky.

Their player base are gate by tier ID, so the problem with spammers isn’t as severe as what we are experiencing now. They are dealing with a smaller population compare to what we have, so the lag and dungeon congestion isn’t as bad as ours. You honestly think iTOS has a in house developer that is targeting the bug fixes now or do you think they are compiling list of bugs that they have to notify the Korean developers and wait for them to issue a patch/bug fix.

You bought too much into the “developed differently” BS. It still revolves around the same game even if the minor differences, all they can do is change little things here and there to make those “differences”. Are you seriously using the limitation on dungeon runs as your argument here?
