wow. only 4am, and pretty sure i’ve already found the dumbest thread i’m going to all day.

no company is going to buy a game that’s in a “fixer-upper” state. mmo’s rarely ever get transferred, and if so only after a long history of running.

no company is going to buy a game that’s going to split their player base. this game is competing against WoW and all the other big games out there (in the same way that a corner grocery store competes with national chain groceries), so in the financial sense, they don’t -really- want it to be a success because it will steal their players.

no company is going to sell a game they just launched. they spent years of time, and millions* of dollars developing it, and it hasn’t been around long enough to prove itself yet, so they aren’t going to get their money back from selling it.

*millions? idk, i’m guessing. the triple-A studios spend hundreds of millions of dollars developing MMO’s. i’m assuming (especially with the sloppy optimization) that this game was done cheaper, but they’ve still spent 5+ years on it, and between staff, hardware, internet connections, office space, etc… it all adds up.
