I bought two of the DLC packs and already put everything in this one char. Didn’t now there was a specific way to do things.
I want to become a Dragoon…
But my character is Warrior> Warrior so far I am lvl 32… with job lvl 8.
If Dragoon is not an option what IS an option with this character? to become a big time DPS as well to be wanted in end game partys? I heard that I should have done Warrior and then Palaste because that is the only class that has taunt?
Might just have to reroll?
You can’t make dragoon until class rank 7. You’re going to be grinding for a while.
Go through the skill simulator and make yourself a build on the way up to Dragoon. http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/
Keep in mind that you can’t reroll previous class ranks, come up with a build you can commit to.
there’s nothing -specifically- wrong with taking Swordsman 2, and THEN taking Peltasta
you simply need to skip one of the higher ranks instead.

but then again, melee dps appears to be considered rather poor endgame, and groups only seem to be interested in taunt at all right now.
meanwhile, @NotSoAccurateNo1 is not living up to his name, lol… he’s quite accurate in pointing out that Dragoon is only a choice at rank 7. it doesn’t matter what you choose right now, Dragoon will not be an option before rank 7… and it will always be an option at rank 7, regardless of your other class choices.
What is the specific name of the taunt skill with pela?
Yea so basically your warrior is useless without a taunt skill lol that is what im trying to say.

first there’s no warrior
second, swordsman 2 is fine if you are interested in PVP.
Third, everything except thee reset potions are transferable. If you must take pelt, just start over

Is the only class that allows taunt pela?
Im assuming no one wants a dps if they dont atleast have taunt?

Yes only pelt has taunt. You can still find groups that don’t specifically need a tank. You will belong in the dps group.
Your char can be saved if you are okay losing taunt for pve but be better at pvp. It’s a trade off really. You can go sword2>hoplite>cata3>dragoon for a pvp oriented build. It’s viable for pve as well. Basically you’ll have a lot of mobility from cata. Retrain will give you utility for pvp. Rush, earth wave and dragoon abilities are your damage.
Yea I honestly want to be dps I have no interest what so ever on being a tank.

I found this build and it mentions that swordsman have provoke ? Isnt that the same as taunt ?
Provoke attrib only allows you to do more aggro to enemies as you attack them which is less convenient than taunt.
ahh I see I seen a build on a site that was dps mainly and didnt involve me having to become a pela. And I do want to do pvp in end game … can I just skip pela?
or is it better to become a dragoon that can taunt? i dont want to continue working on this char for nothing
