I’m going to be a brand new player to ToS this beta test and would like to ask for some assistance when it comes to context of numbers pertaining to certain skills. I hope that any answers I get will also help other players who may also have the same questions.
I’m a hardcore min-maxer when it comes to making builds and I love how the class system in ToS caters to this completely. I plan to create a DPS swordsman with a focus on DPS while dual wielding. I absolutely love dual wielding in any game and tend to focus builds around the pros of dual wielding. So far my job advancements look like this.
Swordsman > Highlander > Highlander C2 > Highlander C3 > Corsair > Corsair C2
Here is the question.
In the Swordsman tree there is a skill called “Gung-ho” and “Concentrate” with one providing bonus damage for a period of time at the cost of defense, and another providing bonus damage for a period of time or set # of hits.
Gung-ho provides +8 P.Dmg at rank 1 and +3 per rank up to +50 at rank 15.
Concentrate provides +5 P.Dmg at rank 1 and +2 per rank up to +26 at rank 15.
As far as I am aware, Corsair’s specialize in chaining between basic attacks and their sub weapon attack due to their ability to dual wield and their “Double Weapon Assault” skill. I’m wondering now if the flat physical damage increase from an increased Gung-ho and Concentrate is strong enough to warrant staying as Swordsman rather than switching to Highlander.
The reason I’m confused is that when it comes to games like these “buff’s” that directly affect damage statistics either affect one of two things; your stat damage or your screen damage or other words where the buff affects the damage formula.
TL;DR :
Is +50 P.Dmg from level 15 Gung-ho and +26 P.Dmg from Concentrate worth staying as a Swordsman instead of going Highlander if I will specialize as a Corsair?
