4½ hours after release we finally get 2 inadequately prepared servers in North America.
Here I am 8½ hours after the launch should have happened and I’m 606 in line to get in at the time of writing this. I seriously knew you had no idea what you were doing IMC, but this proved it beyond all reasonable doubt.
One member of staff asking and answering all questions on the forums, and the response is “We don’t see a good enough reason to implement an EU server”. Yeah well after this botched launch have you woken up to yourselves yet? Have you done the math now finally?
Okay so apparently we are going to get an EU server now (from what the rumours on the forum suggest), but is it too late, is the damage done with a completely botched release, and what valuable lessons did you learn? Hopefully the most important one was that you lacked vision and the ability to see what was so obvious to everyone else. You need to be able to look at your business from the customer’s perspective and if we can CLEARLY see that the launch is going to fail and that we need an EU server so badly, it shouldn’t have even ever been a topic that needed debate in the first place. You said that you’re able to scale the infrastructure you have if you get more players than you expected. So why am I 600+ in line then?
Anyway. I’ve been sitting here for 15 minutes and so far I’ve dropped less than 100 places in line. So it’s going to take me AN HOUR of waiting just to log into the game, and then if I get a disconnect or something, I’ll be up for waiting another hour.
The queue is only going to get worse and worse too as more and more players come back from work/school/etc. and try to play. It can’t get any better from now unless you open more servers. We’ve been saying this ALL ALONG.
By all means have a moan at me for complaining but seriously, someone needs to say “I told you so” so the bureaucracy can be skipped and issues like this don’t happen in the future when it becomes PAINFULLY obvious that something needs to be done. We might be ‘gamers’ but we aren’t stupid. If enough people say “Hey there’s kind of a big issue that needs dealing with here”. Then you should listen.
My 2 cents.
