It’ll be my first time playing this, in an hour my download will finish and i’m wondering which class is similar to assassin, i’m fond of playing assassin in all the games that i’ve played before so it hurt me when i saw that there’s no assassin class here, so is there something similar to assassin here? or a class which can dual wield? thank u very much guys
Dual wield class … Corsair in the swordsman tree I suppose, or you can try Rogue in the archer tree for the assassination feel of cloak - backstab. Pretty sure most classes can start dual wielding at higher levels when sub-weapons are introduced (around lv75 i think), but it will depend on the class (swordsman type classes with the exception of fencers cannot use pistol offhands for example, same with clerics) Daggers can be used as a sub/offhand weapon for all classes I think. It’s best for you to read up on the different classes in their dedicated sections on the forums to see which which class will suit your preferred playstyle, or refer to :
Good luck and have fun with the game
.
there’s only 4 base classes to start from.
Wizard, Cleric, Archer, and Swordsman.
everything descends from those 4, and generally stays in the same spirit as its original class with a bit of variety, like tanky vs dps builds… multi-elemental vs focused-elemental, etc.
check the link @mtyc95 gave, and it’ll give you a rundown on each of the classes and what base they start from.
then once you know what classes you want to play, you can google up a build tree for that.
There are rogue’s which relies on attacking from behind for stupid crits, uses bow+ dagger
There are pirates who dual wield sword+ dagger or sword + pistol
There is shinobi who does kage bunshin no jutsu and throws shurikens
but no real “assassin” class.
dude, you just said “ninja” (shinobi) and followed it with “there’s no real assassin class”
…wait, is that a naruto pic for your avatar? that could explain why you don’t know what are about.
okay guys thanks for your replies, i saw this video of corsair and it looks pretty awesome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYV2T0vWIO8
he said his skill build is highlander-highlander-highlander-corsair-corsair… it was posted last year so im not really sure if this build is still good. is this a good guideline?
sweet! lookit her tickle the heck outta that thing
…lmao her hair fell off when she was knocked down.
anyway, that’s way back in like august, you might wanna try something more up to date? 3/4 of a year for a game that’s going thru its beta stages might be a LOT of changes, and that build might be completely invalid by now.
(then again, i have no idea, might be totally legit too.)
google up “tree of savior corsair build” and take a look at what comes up.
or… just be like IMMA DO WHATEVA YOLO
you get 4 character slots to start with so you can make the first one “for messing around with” and the second one to be “serious” about when it gets harder to level the first, and you understand things better
thought: IF you’re getting a token with your package, and you’re going to delete a character that you’ve leveled for a while (like 50+ maybe?) put all the good gear in the Team Storage at the storage NPC, and buy something from the Marketplace you can re-sell to put in there and keep most of your silver. (selling on Marketplace has a 10% plus 1-5% fee… but still probably better than just tossing out 50-100k silver.)
thanks mate, yeah its way back aug last year i thought its still possible for this build XD, i’ll try search for other builds then, thanks a lot mate
lmao idk, i’m not saying it HAS to be bad, just you should double check before you’re 150 levels into it and realize it ain’t working
The tosbase site is down for me for some reason so I can’t use the skill build sim, but what I’ve been interested in doing (i’m actually still conflicted) is going Swordsman C1 > Pelt C1 > Hoplite C1 > Hoplite C2 > Corsair C1 > Corsair C2 > Templar. Ignore the templar as that’s the “guild leader” class in the game, not sure if you’ll want to be one.
Theoretically, going down this route will give you very good boss killing power + high crit chance. Your main hand will be a spear with an offhand dagger. Spears do bonus damage to medium/large type enemies (usually bosses and minibosses), and hoplite skills are/were considered “boss slayer” skills. Hoplites also have a buff called “Finestra” that boosts +10 crit rate per level; going circle 2 hoplite(highly recommended if you want to go down this route) will mean gettting a level 10 Finestra, which is 100 crit rate and ‘permanent’ uptime (duration lasts slightly longer than cooldown, thus no moments where you’re without the buff). I don’t know the formula for crit chance, but I can tell you honestly that’s very good crit right there, and the buff won’t require you to have a shield equipped (spear is still required tho >_>).
I honestly took peltasta for the costume and the taunt, helps alot with grabbing mobs when you’re grinding, but you can either choose to replace with highlander or another circle of swordsman. Just note that highlander is 2 hander class, maybe some of its skills can be used without a 2handed weapon, but I’m not really sure on that ;-;.
Corsair is pretty straightforward, get hook for cc and Dust Devil for damage. People don’t take the unlock chest skill for 1 of 2 possible reasons :
- Not worth the points as you can get keys
- Could be bugged.
Your last 5 points are really down to you, you can either take a point in Jolly Roger, which drops a flag and gives a chance that monsters within the flag AoE drop more coin/items when hit, as well as providing a small damage buff and then 4 points into keel hauling(does damage to enemies you hook), or going full into keelhauling. I recommend 1 point in jolly roger for making money though.
At C2 is where corsair would really shine I think. Here you want to max Hexen Dropper and Dust Devil, Double Weapon Assault maxxing is up to you,it acts as a buff that temporarily makes your auto attacks hit twice(I think, can someone clarify this?), but each attack uses up 2 stamina. Very good damage though.
I’ve heard bad things about c3 corsair, so i really won’t recommend going there. Circle 2 is more than enough. Your last rank is up to you, you can try for shinobi which is a hidden class (I heard it’s lackluster … clones make you kill yourself faster, only 1 viable attack skill, hence why @Methrammar said it’s not really an “assassin” class). Don’t know much about hidden classes though. Doppelsoeldner is a nice complement to DPS builds AFAIK, but that might have changed.
For stat distribution I added dex till it was natural ~40 points, and am currently going a 8 : 2 STR : CON spread till I feel comfortable with my CON, which will probably be around 40 natural con. After that I’ll probably go full STR. I’m still very early into the game though, like currently level 50 so I’m not extremely experienced, take my build advice with a pinch of salt cos I may not know what I’m talking about 100%. Would be nice if one of those extensive swordsman beta testers could drop in and say something
.
EDIT : Site is working for me now, so here’s the build simulator.
