I installed the game on my computer a while back and now my brother and I want to both play. I sent my treeofsavior folder over the network to his computer, its the whole game. Now that he has the game on his computer is there a way to install it on steam or launch it in any way or form? It does not show up in his steam libraries when we put the game folder in the Common folder with all the other games. We are both trying to play together and just found out the download is locked, but if he already has the game files is there a way to launch it?
There is, but even so, his account won’t be able to play if he just made it, the game is closed for new players temporary until they fix some major issues.
I shared our steam accounts and he made his own account then when I log on through my account it kicks him off the game saying, your brother is now playing the game you cannot both play through 1 shared account. So now he has the ■■■■■■■ game installed and an account linked to his steam account, but now we cant get it to launch through his own steam on his account.
He has all the game files, and his own account now linked to the game now. But we cant figure out how to launch the game.
Of course it kicks him, its 1 account, steam sharing accounts only work for one of the machines it is shared at time.
That goes for any game that uses Steam API as login channel.
So what I am trying to say now is that allowed him to create an account linked to his steam ID. Now we removed the family share but we are trying to get the game to launch on his own steam account now. He has the game files in his Common steam folder and his own account, but the game doesn’t show up in the steam library, it shows his 100 other games.
It doesn’t show because the steamapi.dll and steamappid.ini or w/e it is called in the folder is yours, not his, and even if you put his there, he won’t be able to play if his account was created recently, i already told you the reason why he can’t on my previous reply.
So what you are telling me is there is no way for him to play the game even though he has 100% of the game files and also made an account?
Yes, he can’t play the game if he made his account this week, the game is closed for adjustments and fixes temporary as i said 2x before, doesn’t matter if you copy the files, Steam won’t recognize the files because it came from other account, even if there is a way to fix that, he still can’t play with his new account.
As i said, it is temporary, when things get done IMC will announce the opening again and he will be able to play normally.
What do you mean the game has been closed for 11 days? its more than this week.
Someone please PM me on anyway to get past this, its ■■■■■■■ stupid the server have been closed for ■■■■■■■ 10 days, We both played CB1-3 and and he had to go on deployment in the military after that and now he is back and we cant even play the game after I bought the founder pack even though its free to play.
Announcement on Plans to Temporarily Restrict Access for New Players
Greetings Saviors,
We are planning to temporarily limit new players from accessing Tree of Savior and have currently requested that Valve restrict newer players from downloading the game. Current players will have no problems in accessing the game.
Such restrictions are being implemented so that we can solve issues regarding server stability, client-side lag and other service related problems. The decision was made after serious internal debate on how to best to enhance the gaming experience for current and future players alike.
These restrictions will be put in place as soon as they are implemented by Valve and will be lifted as soon as the issues have been resolved. There will be another announcement as soon as the restrictions are implemented.
Thank you for your continued understanding, cooperation and support for Tree of Savior.
Sincerely,
IMC Staff
