I have questions about the Aug 7 Beta Keys and 2nd Round of Beta Testing

Ok, before anything else, I hope this is the right section to post this. Anyway, so I visited the ToS website just… today, and I haven’t visited this website for a few weeks already since I got busy and I wasn’t chosen as one of the Beta Testers, then I saw an announcement about the August 7 2015 beta key release, I also saw beside it that the Beta Test already ended last Monday.

So I did something for the lulz and logged on my email, I wasn’t really expecting anything because I wasn’t chosen as one of the first beta testers weeks ago… and to my surprise, I found an email from ToS and that they sent me a beta key (August 7 batch)… I was like… wat? :V

Well, obviously, I can no longer use it since the beta test already ended, it’s not like I can still play the game until the next beta test begins, am I right on this?

Also, about my question on the 2nd Round of Beta Test; the fact that I was chosen as one of the Beta Testers for the last batch of Beta Keys sent on August 7 (and albeit I can no longer use it now), will I still get the chance to be chosen as one of the Beta Testers for the 2nd Round of Beta Testing, like, they can still send me an email containing a beta key? Or can I just use this Beta Key they sent me last Aug 7 (that I can no longer use) and it will enable me to participate in the 2nd Round of Beta Test immediately once it starts?

  1. Yes, you can’t play it anymore. But I THINK you can still download the client.

  2. No one knows. But if they follow what they did with the Korean Beta, then everyone that was given a Beta the first time will be able to participate in the next Beta. If they don’t, then they’ll probably just release a new batch of keys to everyone. I doubt this though since it makes more sense to let the ones who’ve already tried it see if they fixed what the original Beta testers reported.

Try downloading the client. If for anything else, it’s still good for that as SixPool mentioned. Curious to see if that works.

Also considering they threatened to ban spammers in Shout and warned them if they continue they may not be able to participate in further beta tests, the rumor is that we might still be able to participate in future beta tests with the keys we have. Just conjecture though.

Oh, I see, thanks for the info SixPool and pseudo, I will try DLing the client while I’m sleeping. And yeah, I really hope they would allow the ones who have the Beta Key for the first beta to participate in the next beta test without needing another key. XD

–UPDATE:
Haha, so yeah, I tried going online on Steam and then activating the Beta Key. I am currently downloading the ToS Client now; indeed, I can still download it.

I still kinda feel my “hype” is utterly wasted though, since once this download completes, I will only be able to try out ToS, for the very first time, once the next beta test starts (and hopefully I can join). Orz

I’m almost 100% sure everyone in the first beta will be in every subsequent beta. I’ve never been in a beta where that was not the case. Grats on getting in can’t wait to see you in icbt2

Feeling like a fool today; so I was able to finish everything from installation to patching, I was able to enter the server select screen and I saw no Server. Clicked the button below anyway, and the game did not let me in. iCry. XD

–Side Question; so I tried hitting Print Screen thingy on my keyboard just to take a picture, but I forgot that my Steam folder has all these confusing stuff that IDK where in the world is the ToS Screenshot folder located. D: How to take screenshots?

Oh thanks, and my hope lies in that. Can’t wait to see everyone as well in-game for CBT2. =D

Steam’s folder system is completely scary. Try opening Steam’s screenshot manager and clicking “Show on Disk”

C:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\TreeOfSavior\release\screenshot

C:\ being the drive letter you installed it on. this should be the directory since the folder structure is there XD

Ah, so that’s what to do. Thanks again guys!

First screenshot for me in this game ever. Gonna save and take a look again after 5-10 years haha.
