I guess farming dungeons for silver just isn't for me 😫

Preface: I’m not much of a grinder nor like farming for stuff like silver and ingredients. I like hunting rares but only to a point (e.g. OK just 1 hour, if I get it then nice, if not then meh) as I get bored easily repeatedly doing the same routine.

When talks of getting decent silver at a short time from farming 130/145 dungeons became a thing here on iTOS, I tried running 145 with my once lv.260+ Catagoon main and clocked in at around 35 minutes.

When I saw vids and comments from people being able to run it at a much faster rate with the right/optimal build and gear, I jumped on the hype (guaranteed 1m in just an hour is pretty good), built myself a Scout C3, geared it and lv.50’ed Flare Shot and Split Arrow.

In my 1st run, it was fun. I was hitting 12k (15k?) per split arrow on some mobs and surprised at how efficient the build really is. Cleared it in ~25 minutes - quite fast considering it’s the 1st run.

In the next few runs though, for some reason it gradually felt boring one run after another. I guess what I said in the preface kicked in: routine farming just isn’t my thing.

I then had a realization:

I could have spent the time and resources making this new toon into making vendor classes like a Squire, Pardoner or Alchemist perhaps which would have provided me passive income while I enjoy playing my main or creating another alt.

I am in no way trying to debunk this silver-farming method. IMO it will always be one of the efficient ways of amassing silver, and perhaps even fun for those who likes this kind of gameplay.

I guess this just serves as some sort of warning for players like me (has limited playtime and doesn’t like doing routine stuff) before they consider rolling a silver-grinder except for those who actually do or would like to main one.

On the same boat here lol. Maybe it was boring cause it wasn’t your cata? :joy:

Seriously though, farming anything for silver will get pretty tedious over time. Maybe if you could get decent silver in parties or something? You can’t avoid the need for silver, since attributes have a huge influence in your overall build.

I think I prefer hunting for rares (white/blue recipes, pricey ingredients) in mid/high level maps since at the same time you are getting silver.

If I were to run 145 with my Goon2 now I think I might even be able to beat my Scout3’s record, but yeah that’d be a waste of run which would have been better for 290 dungeon

Sir. You just need to activate bot script in dungeon. Deactivate when 3 runs finished. Boredom solved.

at least you can actually run them

Despite my rabid devotion to lossless music and using nothing but FLACs. I have learned how to appreciate Spotify just to not die by ToS boredom.

I feel you mate… the boredom and the habit to run 130/145 dun for silvers became daily part of my life while playing ToS and it sucks, limiting your enjoyment and play time during that time and server resets.

The sense of adventure becomes worst, making you a zombie/brainless. Even I activate my masochist mode, its still not enough to ease the pain.

wats more, I hear rank8 attribute cost 500k for even lv1

that’s 1day farm for 1level attribute~

huehuehuehue

ohya, and the vending class, I don’t know, but my armor buff lv10 squire cant even earn 50k per day eventhough I charging 320per kit (per kit cost 80silver, 50% tax, I only earn 80silver per kit sold.)

Rush 290 dungeon instead. The boss alone gives 130k each to 5-member party. So 3 runs gives around 400k which can be done in less than 10 minutes. Only drawback is you need to be high level and hard to solo so need party (especially cleric).

I am a dungeon grinder from dun 130 to 145…and now I found my new home…dun 240…I dunno.…it feels like a chore…and dont like it…but I still do it every single day for the last 2 months:thinking:

…I am having a bit faster time solo 240 compared to solo 145 dungeon…making it less boring…and cube is not trash.:laughing:earns 330k silver per run also

what class u are ?

dungeon 240 are pretty hard to solo tho

Peltcatagoon2…Honestly though… I am not bragging…I really prefer this than 145 dungeon…I am having a harder time in 145 than 240…I think any rank8 can solo it…specially swords…coz mobs there knockdown alot…maybe that is the reason people dont wanna solo it?the unli kd😥

I just runned it 6 times in a row…using reset my best time now is 23 mins…

240 does feel shorter than 145. I think I’ll try that once I get the recipes for 1h & 2h spears and shield from 290 dungeon (either thru repeat runs or grabbing one via AH).

Having Pelt is really convenient though compared to Sw3. Might take me longer compared to you, but at least that’s a better option than 145 (for me).

Yes it is shorter and has lesser mobs compared to 145…that is why I really prefer this now…:laughing:pelt has an advantage but sw3 has an advantage too…longer pain barrier…

Lion shield rcp only cost around 1m in our server now…and practonium can be aquired in a hidden quest in a 315 map…so …it is really reachable😍

Eh, now that you said it I’ll keep checking AH for those recipes as it might better to just buy then in silver than waste runs of 290 rushes for chance of getting them.

Yes…I just bought a lion shield recipe just now for only 200k!:astonished::laughing:…There goes the sole reason for running 290 dun rush run for me:kissing_smiling_eyes:

What about the spears? Aren’t they dropped from the same dungeon or somewhere else?
