Preface: I’m not much of a grinder nor like farming for stuff like silver and ingredients. I like hunting rares but only to a point (e.g. OK just 1 hour, if I get it then nice, if not then meh) as I get bored easily repeatedly doing the same routine.
When talks of getting decent silver at a short time from farming 130/145 dungeons became a thing here on iTOS, I tried running 145 with my once lv.260+ Catagoon main and clocked in at around 35 minutes.
When I saw vids and comments from people being able to run it at a much faster rate with the right/optimal build and gear, I jumped on the hype (guaranteed 1m in just an hour is pretty good), built myself a Scout C3, geared it and lv.50’ed Flare Shot and Split Arrow.
In my 1st run, it was fun. I was hitting 12k (15k?) per split arrow on some mobs and surprised at how efficient the build really is. Cleared it in ~25 minutes - quite fast considering it’s the 1st run.
In the next few runs though, for some reason it gradually felt boring one run after another. I guess what I said in the preface kicked in: routine farming just isn’t my thing.
I then had a realization:
I could have spent the time and resources making this new toon into making vendor classes like a Squire, Pardoner or Alchemist perhaps which would have provided me passive income while I enjoy playing my main or creating another alt.
I am in no way trying to debunk this silver-farming method. IMO it will always be one of the efficient ways of amassing silver, and perhaps even fun for those who likes this kind of gameplay.
I guess this just serves as some sort of warning for players like me (has limited playtime and doesn’t like doing routine stuff) before they consider rolling a silver-grinder except for those who actually do or would like to main one.

…it feels like a chore…and dont like it…but I still do it every single day for the last 2 months:thinking:
earns 330k silver per run also
