I’m a cataptrach c1 with 100+ str 40+ con and 20+ dex I have a feeling that investing in str is a mistake. Should I go invest in dex now or continue my 4 2 1 str/con/dex build thanks. I’m focusing on PvE btw.
Dex certainly doesn’t feel good until 70ish crit.
Its either itemization or you hit a bump. Right now you probably need to land c2, if im guessing your level right youre close.
Dex or str, cata becomes powerful at C3 thanks to Rush. You took hoplite in Rank 3? if you did you should have a fairly decent crit rate
Yes I’m already ay lvl 100 and I took hop 1 on C3 though the sad thing is I can’t keep finestra up all the time. I will be going Cata3 as well. I just wonder how the end game will affect me if I don’t add a lot of dex or con. A friend of mine told me to at least get 100 dex and another friend of mine told me that dex is useless in endgame for you can’t evade magic attacks and I should put more con instead.
Your friends are half correct, since you’re probably going to use plate set, getting dex only means crit rate and accuracy to you, something around 100-150 dex would be enough, just supply your weapons with proper gems and maybe have sissel bracelets to boost your crit rate further
mmm thanks I kinda get the idea now. How about con? is it necessary to have a high con since plate mastery and pet can give a boost to hp anyways.
I don’t really know how much con an end game cata needs, probably around 80-120. If you are planning to pvp, consider even more con.

Highest damage output is a mix of str and dex at a 60/40 ratio. But basically, pure dex overtakes str once you start hitting around 3-4k damage.
Also, it’s easier to get physical damage than crit rate thanks to enchants. (120 vs 42).
Also keep in mind priests increase dex by 30% +10
