I feel hostaged by my class

At first, when the patch arrive I did not think of anything of the Cataphract nerfs that they say as I was playing a role play of spear using cavalry. I continued to do what I did (a cycle of questing, doing missions and dungeons after getting donne’s buff). Then I realized something after this just recent dungeon run. The last run consists of 3 cata-dragoons and 2 clerics. One of the clerics kept on supporting us but the other one set up safety zone on himself then just stood there. I realized that we are really taking way too long a side of a dungeon (230 dg). You could say that maybe because of the safety zone then afk cleric but I think not. I’ve been in same situations before but this was different. We hardly clear an area because we hardly deal damage.

After that dungeon run I wanted out so I opened my inventory with the intent to use the rank reset item, But I got a good look at my equipment and silver of course. Then I realized that if I want to change classes, I will have no equipment for that class because I’ve already invested on this current one.

My current predicament tells me to stay as cata-goon. I could stay playing as cata-goon but moments of “I wish I had better/damage” is there and will be there. I could start a new character but I dont think I could hand over to the new character because I hardly have anything. Probably, if any ideas to escape this predicament I would take it. I’m just probably feeling to deep or faraway to start all over again, maybe.

Why can’t you just go HopGoon and keep your spear?

even then shouldn’t be a issue lancer is a cavalry class that uses a spear that is a meta build now.

Sounds like OP doesn’t enjoy the low PVE damage/clear speed tho, which Lancer won’t help with.

Lancer in PVE is for bossing.

@OP. You can still use your 2 handed spear even though youre not Cata, Drag or Lancer. Some skills dont require specific weaponry

You can reset into SW3-HL3-Barb-Lancer, SW3,hop2-Bard-Dopple-lancer. Dopple 3 using spear is also possible. Punish 15, DOV 15, Cyclone 15.

SW3 Double slash, AFAIK only cross guard is locked into 2 handed sword for Highlander, Punish, DOV, cyclone, Shinobi skills can also be used with 2 handed spear. Then Lancer at rank 8 as stand alone class.Yea, i got your point now.

I think that Cata, Lancer or Dragoon is needed for the atribute that let you use the weapon.

Yea, thats why pick Lancer at R8, it is good as stand alone class. Cata-Dopple 3 is possible. Sw1-HL3-Cata1-Dop3 though unconventional, still preserved the weapon you have specially high-end trans 10 Practo spear.

Cata3 is dead end class, extremely underwhelming. It will become decent after you spend all your fortune into trans 10 and attribute 100, which means it will not be good for newbies starting the game. Cata 3 right now reminds me of R7 initial released in KR, swordie on that time took heavy nerfs, because sword dominated R6 beta hence IMC nerf them. Given the history of how Cataphract became good, it took a year for it to be good from buffs since Beta-R8. It will take months again before it could shine again, unless IMC drastically buff it which i think is not possible in the near future.

Disagree. Cata3 is a good class for Trot alone. It’s just not a class for PVE farming.

I still havent seen anyone in TBL at high rank using low end weapons, of course i have seen Clerics, Wiz with low investment taking the spot at the top because of utilities. You maybe have speed but your damage is underwhelming, we cant kill players using Trot. Cata 3 Sword 3 Dragoon2/Corsair-Lancer all relies to Cata 3 rush in TBL to be good. That PVP class relies so much in DPS. Before I could die from Rush alone and also dethrone from players without Trans and using middle end weapon like Cata pike, now i just laugh at it,. Rush is decent though with extreme investment, but impossible for newbies.

So if youre new to game and want to bring Cata 3 in TBL or PVE it would failed miserably.

Budget TBL swordie is not mounted anymore. Full con Corsair 3-Murmillo is the new budget friendly for swordsman PVP.

I’ve been str even before the patch and been using a 220 weapon

I pretty much solo almost of the time except with dg and mission runs and things take too much time but the thing is I take too much damage now ever since the patch which means more hp potions and I am poor as hell to buy more potions. With what I am trying to reset to will theoretically “block” most physical attacks and save money on potions

Mhm my lvl 200 sw3>cata gets 6x times the nr 1 in sia+dun.
Its not that bad it seems.

i really dont know much about that class but maybe your role isnt dps
