I checked my GPU load during terrible city framerate loss. Here's what I discovered

An issue with the programming is NOT an issue with the client PC; it’s an issue with the client itself and that’s exactly what’s being discussed here. We have already proven that it isn’t an issue with having enough resources (which would be the “specs on the client PC part”.

And, at the point we’ve gotten here, the root cause of this issue isn’t a matter of opinion or guesswork anymore. We’re working with empirical data, and optimizing some network parameters (such as TcpAckDelay) does improve framerate drastically (we’ve seen up to 400% increases in certain circumstances).

Hey, I just quit the game because of the FPS drops. I cannot kill field bosses properly with 2fps…

Do you mind writing a tutorial on how to do that? Maybe I can come back playing if so.

Thank you!

There is no known cure besides a really, really powerful CPU. This probably isn’t fixable without serious modification to the game client and server architecture.

HI, i just want to share my experience regarding the FPS issues, since i think im the only one using an old PC here.
so here are my specs.
MOBO: P5GC-MX/1333
CPU: INTEL Pentium D 3.4ghz 3.4ghz
RAM: 3gb
GPU: Palit Geforce 210
OS: Windows XP

Philippines
50-60 ms Ping most of the time.

so there my stable FPS are ranging from 2-15 fps always, getting lower when attacking multiple mobs, when players around. so me very eager to play this game with an old pc ive searched for all the methods i can do to make it work fast. but it seems none of them worked.

but these last couple of days ive noticed when i first logged in the game my fps was at 20-30fps which is suprising but the thing is it will only last less than 5 minutes then goes back to my regular FPS.
i dont know how it happened if its because of all the tweaks i did or is it just in the game not being optimized properly. So I believe that my Old PC can definitely run TOS fairly smooth if it will be optimized.

i hope this can help a bit. thank you.

I don’t agree with that the “low level” isn’t useful thing but let’s not get into that because it’s not the topic.

I think the Japanese had this problem too and I assume the Korean one has the same problems? I haven’t play the Japanese or Korean one, but if they do have the same problem, I would think they would report it. So, If they did report then it should already have been fixed already or currently working on? I don’t know, but it’s a big problem.

Or I could keep calling it out like I see it.

You came in, tried to tell people you were wrong using incorrect information, and then tried to go ‘lol don’t take it so seriously :)’.

You tried to chime in on a technical problem many people understand very well with… pretty much no knowledge.
