How to stop RMT

  • Remove auction house
  • Make all items untradable
  • Adjust drop rates for essentially single player mode
  • Continue to ban bots

Would you still play the game?

It is cheaper just cancel the project than try to push it further under that condition lol.

No.

That’s a little bit extreme, but I personally don’t mind.

To be honest I would still play the game, but is there no way to have a fully tradeable market whilst eliminating at least the bot menace through other means? (Blocking 3rd party software with a hackshield etc?)

Every MMORPG has to deal with RMT anyways, it is really hard to stop people RMT except for taking ludicrous measures like above. Does IMC not have exclusive items that can only be purchased from them in a storefront through real money in the first place?

In my opinion our real threat is the bots, there must be some other way to deal with the bots exclusively without having to go through such extremely far-reaching measures.

So gold sellers would sell equiped accounts, you think exactly like IMC.

They said “Lets make gold untreadable as top equips/sets and put a price range, so gold sellers won’t sell gold”, we still have gold sellers.

“Lets close to new players, so gold sellers will lose their accounts and can’t sell gold”, we still have gold sellers.

Gold sellers are here exactly because of this mind. As you, IMC thinks that restrictions will work.

… you’re talking nonsense.

100% drop rate is the solution. :smirk:

Fight RMT is fight agains any type of trading itself, even in a 100% single player game will still have RMT or another similar way to trade stuff, like trading full accounts, this is a lost battle because you can’t handle stuffs in real world.

IMC just have to ban all BOTs and start banning people the way blizzard does, then IMC can revoke all the ridiculous restrictions they make and the game will be great again.

Why would any one possibly want more restrictions then we already have? Like… i honestly can’t tell if this and the rmt guy are for real… this forum has corrupted me, i really hope you guys are joking.

The game does not have to please everybody. That is why we have our genre or our own type of game. If it isn’t for you, move on to something else.

Personally I think they should focus their energies in dealing with the bugs/optimization problems first. RMT is really hard to stop and they’re having a hard time preventing RMT because the restrictions themselves is what pushes legit players into RMT, IMC should rethink hard on their decisions.

This argument is invalid.

There will no way possible to STOP RMT,

however, you can always reduce it to minimize the casualty.

and that is where IMC failed.

Diablo 3 had done something similar and in the end it worked out well for the health of the game (there was an auction house which was later removed in favor of items becoming untradable—instead of buying gear there was incentive to do the content to eventually find that awesome piece of equipment). Though since ToS is an MMO, it is a bit different in nature.

Both sides have pro’s and con’s, though I think I would be fine if trading would be removed. In general, I play games for the mechanics, not the economy. I would much rather play the game to get cool things rather than play the economy for rewards.

lets remove the ability to party too

tree would make a great rpg
