How to stop AFK Farming

AFK farming is becoming a real issue, especially since IMC removed around half of the channels, everyone is pilling up on the same spots.

This is very bad not only for the game (If bots take over the silver market, the game will become less competitive and players who don’t buy silver will eventually give up the game), but also for the people who are actually trying to level, and have no chance of doing so because the AFK farmers are cleaning up every mob.

I would like to share 2 things that I use to stop these idiots, and anyone who would like to reply with other ideas is welcome to do so.

  1. Cryomancer skill - Ice wall

Using this skill, can push AFK users away. If you use this skill well enough, you will be able to push them to a corner.

Con: It’s not easy to use this skill, since sometimes you use it to try to push the character to one side, and it ends up pushing it to the opposite side.

  1. Red orbs

Using red orbs, will kill almost every AFK user instantly, since usually they farm in a map where the level isn’t too far off their own.

Con: It’s not easy to get red orbs, the drop rate is very low, IMC should really make the drop rate higher, it would help us users end with bots much more easily.

If you have any other ways that you would like to share, it would be great, lets kill those bastards! :laughing:

Not really, most of them are AFK for hours, many of them won’t notice they’re dead until the next day, red orbs are a very effective way to make their lives miserable, too bad their so hard to get.

Rework Sorcerer tree or completely delete the tree. Easy

only problem i see with afk farming is inflation. it supplies more silver into the circulation. however, with the huge silver sink ToS has, i dont think it will contribute much anytime soon.

if you’re complaing about not being able to level because of these afk farmers, you’re clearly doing it wrong. I have leveled three characters past 160 - two of them are now above 200 - and i have yet to have a problem with leveling because of these afk players people are complaining about.

lastly, we have to differentiate bots from everything else. labeling everything as bot just smears everything with emotional undertones. that’s why i usually can’t take complaints on this matter seriously

another reason why going afk shouldn’t really be an issue.

btw i dont own any sorc/necro/afk-built class.

i felt i needed to put that disclaimer since most of the people complaining about this matter are mostly angst-driven and can sometimes be too narrow minded to only see others being either for or against them.

Sorcerer isn’t the problem. You can report any sorcerers you see AFK farming because they’re using auto pot macros, which are bannable since they’re just a low form of botting.

Necromancers are the actual issue since their summons just last indefinitely with no cost, so AFK farming with Necromancer is ‘legitimate’.

Still don’t see the issue with afk farming. It’s allowed by IMC (As long as it’s not a sorc using autopot) and isn’t as big a deal as say botters, not even remotely close.

I feel I should also put a disclaimer, I don’t have a sorc/necro to afk with and I don’t see it as a problem. It never inconvenienced me in leveling. If you want to have the same ‘advantage’ or whatever you’d call it, go make your own sorc and afk farm and use your SP pots every now and then or make a necro and just leave the game on. Problem solved.

Well, some sorcerer are 1/2 afk and use a potion every 3-5 min with a time to warn them they need to use a potion or they just check their time etc…

Auto Pot sorcerer is bannable
Bot Sorcerer … Yeah see some sorcerer with the same patern botting at dina bee (Like ressumon at random doing fireball and dagger in the air for absolutly no reason and in the same order…)
Using pot and 1/2 afk sorcerer is Legit
Necro 100% Afk is legit (Skeleton will die after a moment(At dine bee at least) and shoggot will survive but is clear speed isn’t that great, he can easiliy get outfarmed by an actif player)

Inflation and rewarding people for not playing the game.

Oh, and sorcerers are not the ones doing the afk farming at all. Its the necromancers.

Not only that, Necromancers are also capable of reviving dead threads such as this one.

Just add a timer to necro skills, done.
