How to Spot Bots (video)

Okay so, I happened to stumble across a cluster of bots and this was the point when I realized what a bot was in TOS (with the exception of the obvious archer kneeling shot bots or the mage class just throwing balls in some direction.)

So i made a little recording of a cluster of bots. Take a look if you want. I dont know if I will be doing more “episodes” at this point, maybe if it gets good reception I will make it a point to hunt the bots and continue recording them.

Based on my observation:

- Fixed pattern as bot react is based on loops in a small area
(Normal attack and walking around relentlessly while waiting for monster respawn, now some of them do offer free blessing (priest), noticed some of them jump and run(need confirmation on this**) ).
- Low adventure index (subjective).
- Abnormal level at certain map with warp (subjective).
- Equipment durability wore off (subjective).
- have the tendency to KS normal players
- Bots normally kills off easy mobs (Those with magic attack, AoE, painful skills are often not in their list).
**- Will stay in same maps for days (**unless they are hunting for legendary collectible else does not make any sense right?)
- Anti social behavior and does not react to accusation or conversation.
- Normally do not own a pet for obvious reason: maximizes silver gain for selling it.
- Normal class of choice for botters would be: Swordsman and Cleric (Correct me if I am wrong)
- Have enormous number of monster killing. I believe the database should be able to backtrack and deploy certain monitoring on this players using information as below:

- My assumption - since they do not have commitment, I strongly believe their attribute would have remain untouched (Maybe we can check on this part??).

Potential bot future behavior?
- maybe able to roam whole maps?
- able to react to conversation or accusation?
- Use skills to kill mobs more efficiently (right now, i believe they are having SP management issue and not mature yet).
- Engage in PVP and perform flawless teamwork?
- KS normal players on world boss? They can be in several parties.

Feel free to add more tips to spot a bot. Hopefully we can make a clean game without bots. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am pretty sure they are already to the point of returning to town to repair and restock or deposit whatever. In the video, I catch one of the spawning back in, seemingly like they did just that.

In my years of playing mmos, ive never seen a bot respond to chat. i dont think the people making the cheat tools are THAT dedicated. Same for PvP, the amount of work that would need to go in to make a bot that can PvP is pretty high.

was possible on Ragnarok. Use of keywords to determine a set of answers, got abandoned when GMs start getting soft on bots

Oh! Thanks for enlighten me about the info because the reason their equipment durability implies they do not often return to town for repairing.

Another obvious reason is they will never ever invest in pet since they want to maximize silver gain for selling purposes.
