How to salvage the game without circle resets

Rank 8 is coming out and people have been demanding for rerolls because we screwed up our build one way or another.

Honestly, I think one of the main ways to fix this issue is to INCREASE THE PARTY SIZE. The game was promoted to have over 40+ classes and restricted to only a party of 5?! This limitation created the meta build heavy system for the current end game content and players who played with ‘jack of all trades’ got cut out and unwanted, which is unfair because we’re trying to have fun here…make the grind less mind numbing.

Anybody else want to play in parties of more players?
It just might bring some folks back to fill the long empty queue waits?

Maybe the code is beyond saving that this can’t happen? But then again, there was the exploit where 30 people could accept party invites at the same time…it must BE POSSIBLE.

  • Increase party size of 5 to at least 8
  • Improve class balance and make them all wanted for end game content
  • Fix fps first so we can have at least 20 characters on the screen without crashing

I arbitrarily picked the number 8 because it’d be nice to fit in 3 more players of different builds. We can ask for party size increase once they have the fps issue fixed. Less Tree of Discrimination. Maybe one day we’ll all share the loot too…

I’d say fix the !@#$%^&* fps first!!

The moment you wanted to play with more party members in your party but the game cant handle the heat and decides to crash which cost your run and cube to be lost in eternity is a big no. I dont wanna experience the same nightmare over and over again mate.

But I understand the topic and I agree with all of this.

You’d also just have more people recruit more meta classes. I suppose if they weren’t around though, more spaces = more possibility. Eh.

Ideally, fixing the fps would solve a lot of problems.

Increasing the party size does not change the fact that people may not enjoy playing their build after changes/updates are made.

I don’t know how you came to that conclusion, but its so far off base of why people want resets that it’s just funny.

Go ahead and reply with whatever retort you may have. I’m not going to bother posting in this topic again anyways ^o.o^

I also thought that could happen, more space for meta, but it’s less limiting with a larger group size. Maybe there could be exp bonus for the number of different classes inside the group?

Sounds like they’re doing FPS and resets already.

For party size? No… Because then all the safety wall effects and buffs would have to get ripped up. Unrealistic to rebalance everything.

But fixing the weaker classes is what everyone wants. Something that makes Pry3 scale into late game, corsair becoming more compatible with R8, and a general Sadhu buff or rework. But I think they’re a bit slow to the punch on these since class issues are things that does not affect the whole. Still they need to go back and work on them fixing these weak builds makes everyone want to play them. And you got a lot of potential fun there. I know I want to play my Pry3 more…

People want resets because they aren’t the standard build and have to deal with rank 8 bs. Everyone is going meta standard because it’s the only way to play in the party of size of 5.

Did you not also see the improve class balance option as well?
Why make a game of so many class variations and only have a handful of them valuable?

I press M in dungeons/fields/etc to 100% the map for vibora, press N to check where am I and what happens next is a total horror… :joy:

We all know that initial FPS fix is going to be a joke, but hey, IT MIGHT JUST HAPPEN

And whoever made the buff limit should be shot in the foot, forces everyone to either have a krivis in party or carry daino scrolls around. Worrying about buffs is the last thing a player should have to deal with. Then again we got IMCed

I’d be down for an experience increase based on diversity. Might be a bit tricky though, because would it be effected just by say…

Swordiex2 and a Swordie with Pelt in the same party, but they are both rank 7, so the increase still counts since there is a class variation there. Or, based entirely on the last rank taken, so no experience bonus for two Fletchers? I’d probably be keener on the second option, because that would create more diversity in party set up and world boss setting, however wouldn’t solve problems like “you must have pelt or delete yourself, pleb!”

I was thinking that there could be the pelt swordie and catagoon swordie in the same party. But yeah, there’s no way to really change the fact that swordsman class has been reduced to a mob gatherer…

It could save the paladin class because you wouldn’t need to be scroll spamming all the time…?

It’s tricky, but I feel it’s an improvement to our 5 man party of optimized meta.

I say the more, the merrier. I use to rather enjoy 12 player parties on RO, at least you’d have more people talking. Especially when you’re just a support character, can be a yawn fest standing there buffing people and not doing much else… Though the last few games I’ve played seem to have smaller party systems now.

Anyway, I do agree with everyone that FPS is an issue for this idea, so that’s what I voted on. It doesn’t detract from the ideas validity, though.

This. Well at least for me I enjoyed partying in RO.

But yes fix FPS first, then I hope they’d do something about party/guild content.

Once the FPS is fixed, maybe we could get a 20-30 man raid. For me, this is why ET isn’t much of a thing here. Limited to 5 man meta party. And yes we have those guild content, but they are either buggy and/or aren’t even worth doing at all.

I do wonder about the buff limit. Kind of thing you’d expect someone to come up with when they’ve in a drunken haze.

[details=debauched fiction ahead]We got 2… 2… hundred freaking classes how we going to stop buff becoming stupid OP Bob?!

You know… it’s those kinds of completely outlandish balance decisions I actually have a fetish for though. Sets the game apart. Pretty sure it makes 99% of people cringe though.

I actually dont want an increase party size. 5 is good.

As you mentioned, fps needs to be fixed first.

After that maybe they can have bigger dungeons and be able to link 2 parties together or something, but imo party size is fine at 5.

This is now the second optimization patch, not initial. What makes you think there wont be a third? They make a patch to help with the issue that people complain about the most and you make comments like this smh.
