Sorry for the double post, but I believe I found out why this is happening…
My windows 10 DPI setting is at 200%, and its making programs think they’re in 1080p mode. If I run a “whats my resolution”, it comes up 1080p!? With my resolution set to 4K and 200% DPI!?
A table of DPI % to PERCEIVED resolution is below.
4K @ 200% DPI = 1080p perceived (current setting)
4K @ 150% DPI = 1440p perceived (recommended by Microsoft)
4K @ 100% DPI = 2160p perceived (unreadable, but fixes the problem)
I cannot set my DPI to 100%, since that not only does not increase my resolution from 4K, but it makes the icons 4x smaller and unreadable…
I think the only way to fix this is to force TRUE full screen, since ToS is using “virtual full screen”, and will also be affected by this resolution problem.
I do not get why programs think my resolution is lower than it is when my DPI is set, and I do not get why ToS does not actually run full screen when its set to that…
EDIT: So I forced the game to run in true full screen (set resolution in user.xml to 0), but now i have an entirely new set of problems.
The mouse cursor icon gets stuck on the lower left of my screen, and my mouse moves around without the GUI updating (cant see the mouse moving)…
EDIT2: I found out that IMC neglected to code in DPI scaling awareness in their game. It was the same deal with their “Granado Espada” game, but their excuse then was “The age of the game does not support 4K”. However, this game is new, and 4K exists, so there shouldn’t be an excuse on why they did not do this.
