How to play with double pay earn?

I’ve spent one point in this skill and I’m very disappointed, to the point of spend the remaining points in some other random skill (I have DoV 5 and cyclone 5, and planned to go with DPE 5).

It seems that you only have 1 hit (with DPE 1) to get the bonus. After you’ve hit with the buff active, the buff ends. This is different of what I expected: the buff would last all the time and you’d get the bonus if you kill the enemies with one hit while the buff is active.

There seems to be an additional limitation: even if you kill a bunch of mobs with one hit, each kill will count as one hit. I’ve killed several mobs at the same time with one skill and only one of them dropped 2 coins while the rest of them dropped only 1 (same with other drops).

I’m not sure if this is what they planned for the skill or if it’s bugged, but at it is right now I think it’s pretty much useless, only useful for some big mobs.

I’m aware they “fixed” the skill for parties making the skill even worse. I know they had to, but now is far from being useful. You might get more EXP and money just killing mobs instead of being careful and try to use the skill.

So the question is: under what conditions is the skill worthy to play? Is there any plan to change the skill so it’s worthy to pick it? Should I just forget about the skill and spend the rest of the point in something else?

What I originally expected of it on paper as well. I did realize later on that if that was the case, the skill would be an OP farming tool.

I guess it’s now working the way it should, but a bit of improvement wouldn’t be bad either.

I don’t think it would be so OP. You have 1 minute of cooldown, 8-10 secs of buff (which isn’t so much time), you get double damage with the attribute, and 1 hit (at level 1) to kill them all.

How many areas are there with a high mob density where this could be considered OP? I don’t think there are too many, and probably they would be low level compared against the player’s level, so maybe neither the exp gain not the drop would be so great. If this were the case, a simple buff uptime reduction to 5 secs would be enough to keep things under control.

This skill was useful when your party could kill the mob for you and it would count. Nowadays, you must kill the monster yourself to activate the skill effect. Double pay earn is compleately useless now.

DPK hunting since it seems it’s not an exact amount of kills but rather a range. Once you’re near the DPK range, just group 'em up and you’re very likely guaranteed a double drop.

Not yet fixed on iTOS. The skill is extremely good already, no need to buff it even further.

It’s not working on parties anymore

It’s useful on certain areas, if you know how is the market on your server, you can make loads of silver by farming the same materials/recipe. I used to farm Portiums back in the day on crystal mines with DPE. Now it’s worthless.
Regarding skills, here’s when the “true” and “fake” multi hits play a role, skills like Seism, Sturtzhau, Zwerchhau, Punish, don’t consume all your hits.
Farming Artiloniums on dg290 via combo Bash+DPE+Punish is a good option if you have a good amount of AoEar and some stacks of dov. Mobs will die 1 shot.

Why would DPE become useless?

It is so hard to lower the monster HP then deal the final blow with DPE active?

I’m with DPE at 5 and i’m extremely satisfied with it, heck, i would love to have more points on it.

I have DPE at 1 and it earned me a lot of money.

Even random drops and when I was farming for a DPK, the double amount of silver can still be satisfying, it doesn’t cost much for only 1 point and it is a huge investment when you are farming and get the lucky final hit, you get the item you were looking for x2. It’s all about the odds…

I’m still confident they will put back the buff shareable with the party next patch.

Choosing the skill just to go for DPK hunting isn’t for me, i would get extremely annoyed. For common drops it might be better and easier to kill everything in sight, so it might be useful for rare drop, but the problem is the high DPK count.
If you enter in a new map, you have no idea how many kills are left for the drop, so until there is a drop the skill is useless (in this context). After the drop, you can start counting but there is a long count to do and people can kill mobs altering the count without you noticing it. Things go wrong and people get mad.

If we just use the skill for plain money-making, it might be fine to have it high level.

As a tip, if you want to farm certain rare items, check if they can be transmuted from lower rank items, DPE helped me alot for crafting my 2x Phadas, i didn’t go for Dawn crystal fragments which have 100 DPK, but Stoulets fragments which can be transmuted if you get 8x and are much easier to get. If you’re a farmer and you have an alchemist2 or 3 or a friend, you can craft or make good items and sell them if you feel like.
If you find a golden mob, that’ 4x drop and hella ton of money, think about it.

Still working on siau mission. I only get 1% exp for each boss however with DPE on I can get 2%. Ill check again after I got home later.
