How to identify BOTs?

Hey everyone,
I am still kind of new to the game. I noticed that a lot of people are complaining about bots. Some people are saying that 50% of the server population is botting, which sounds kind of inaccurate to me. So far I haven’t seen bots and my highest character is level 352 now.

The only things I saw sometimes were:

  • people leveling semi-afk with companions, which is allowed as far as I know
  • people using necromancer for farming semi-afk, which is allowed as far as I know

Back then when I played Ragnarok online it was kind of easy for me to identify bots. There were a few common maps, where they farmed and it was super easy to find out whether they were botting. However, regarding ToS I don’t know exactly how to identify bots. As following i would like to ask you guys how you identify them. So people are aware how bots look like - so that we can report them with the “Report Bot” function ingame.

Thanks a lot for the help!

Kind regards,
Alatariel

Hey,
thanks a lot for the fast answer. I will try to keep my eyes open then. In case that I find some of them in towns I’ll happily report them.
Kind regards,
Alatariel

No real need to report bots, the only way i can see them being problematic is in a specific map that has them walking in circles looting gems from monsters killed by alt-accounts.
On every other single map they are completely useless and make low money/kill count compared to a human player.
What i’ve seen is some people multi-clienting with necro bots on low level hunting grounds for blessed shards, with a bot walking up and down to loot. Still not that good.

I’m already bored of reporting them in the bots section, it’s the same sorc-necro build and the worst of all is that they are on maps 300+, the GMs should have a weekend to hunt them, they are easy to find, but Anyway, I do not think that happens

low money?? wut lol

bots in 290+ maps are probably making 10-30m per day from silver drops alone
a human player can never surpass a bot farming around the clock, non-stop

especially when one guy can run multiple bots in multiple maps and exponentially increase total profits, the best bot runners can probably rake in 1billion silver worth of profit in less than a week.

No? I make between 1-2m in silver drops per hour and i actually play decently with good gear.
Most of the money for bots comes from farming gems in an infamous place with a stack of necros.

No way a roaming bot will be making more than 400-500k per hour.

how much hours do you play per day? with your numbers, if its less than 12 then your only slightly beating the bot, can you even sustain playing 12 hours a day for a week?, compared to the bot playing 24 hours a day non stop for a week.

even if they did make less, the owner of those bots happens to be a human too and can play and generate as much money as yourself…

this is probably true for the majority of botters, just casual players who cant be bothered to farm, so they end up setting up bots and play normally on another account.

I would like to suggest a bot hunt event, under some level of botting reported the reported char could be hunt by any human toons and get 50% of the loots they carry.

To undo the reported status we could implement somthing like a maze or a “gimmick” without killing involve.

Well i know this is off topic. But i just want to share.

I made around 400m in december alone, luckily we have no auction house bots.
My point is that the bots cannot swamp a map without griefing each others farm, that’s why all of them are necros that are going to farm in groups of 5-6 in gem spots.

I’ll make you understand it better now.

Bots farm gems-> Bots sell level 7 gems -> Players buy silver from bots -> Players buy level 7 gems -> Players give back the money to the bots -> Bots sell money and gems -> Players buy silver and gems so the bots get a profit multiplied for tons of times, when you see level 7 gems in the auction house 24/7 that becomes pretty evident. TLDR: if someone buys silver and then uses that silver to buy gems they are giving it back to bots.

Tbh a gm sweeping up into known maps where 50 necros sit in the same point, dc them and banning the other bots that walk in circles would do better.

what server do you play in lol?
in my server there are bots everywhere soloing maps, especially ones with extremely dense spawn rates(jonael, timerys, 3-4 bots in these maps wont slow down profit, thats how dense it is lol), even some in the highest level maps at peak hours, (sausys9 and the maps after it and in zeteor, iotheo, epherotao), the ones your mentioning are the bots in workshop

the gem thing is more side money than picking up silver, also lvl7 gems are more common because of the new npc that sells gems, making it less valuable.

Fedimian.
The gems have been the same price for 6 months now here. I see necrostack bots in low level hg too.
Nothing problematic to me. Everything seems pretty affordable and there’s no problem in farming stuff in HG, also strongest weapons are locked by raid, and the bots do me a favor if they farm and sell masinios materials, especially varle gunner.

im not gonna put energy and time into reporting bots unless i am certain IMC wants these gone and need our help. it probably takes these bots less time setting up a new account thats ready to roll than it takes us to report them. where i live they call that mopping with the water tap open.

edit: now what i’d really love to see is all the people who buy money from these bots banned. clearly there are hundreds of players buying silver from them. no market, no bots.
