How to block silver sellers

First allow players to trade items without a token with the following restriction: Once an item is traded it cannot be sold to a vendor or placed on the Auction house.

Second create and sell lots of different cosmetic items in the cash shop that can be traded or sold on the AH. This and not tokens should be your primary money generator.

Remove all restrictions on the AH. Think of it in terms of Guild Wars 2 they don’t have any restrictions on their AH and yet you don’t see a single bot on any GW2 server. The 30% fee for not token users can still remain.

Finally allow players to purchase TP directly from the cash shop using Silver and allow players to purchase Silver using TP.

If you do this then you will get all of the money and the gold sellers will for the most part move on to other games.

how about when the silver sellers sell cheaper silver than the official (use TP)? since the restriction of the AH is gone, silver sellers can buy any overprice item from the silver buyers

none of these suggestions is actually going to stop any RMT at all.

item trades: so the RMT farms up tons of items, and sells them directly through trade.

cosmetic items: while i do want this (i tend to be a “fashion” player), it’s completely unrelated to RMT.

remove AH restriction: how is that going to stop RMT? now they can sell items on AH, and get their silver immediately. WoW has no AH restrictions, and has bots.

TP for Silver: and then the bots farm it crazy cheap (seriously, LIVE bot farmers make like 10c an hour, and many of them aren’t even live to begin with.) and buy all the TP they want, and flood the AH with all those cosmetic items you mentioned before, earning them tons of silver, resulting in even more flooding of AH.

Silver for TP: this is just going to make inflation ridiculous. “legit” players will throw hundreds of dollars at it buying silver left and right for all the shiny gear they “must” have. RMT’s will still be able to farm it dirt cheap, and since they don’t care about destroying the economy (it just means that as inflation skyrockets, people will buy even more silver from them) they’ll just keep going. yes, IMC -can- just print silver endlessly, at no cost to themselves, but anyone with a basic grasp of economics will point out to you that simply issuing more currency deflates the value of that existing currency, and as i said before, this will just boost the inflation rate.

IMC has already announced that they’re working on the issue. fixing it -effectively- takes time.
